Fear and Loathing....

An exerpt from my xanga

" Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is beginning to make me loathe it. And I'm only on the 3rd chapter. Everyone seems to love it, so I borrowed it from my brother and am currently trying to figure out what's so goddam exciting about it. I admit, the imagery is priceless, but it also sounds like a bunch of crazy rambling that's taking me no where. Which I know is the point, because they're on drugs. But they seem extremely immature and retarded to me. This book, and the movie Requiem For a Dream, are two sources that will stop me from ever feeling the need to inhale ether, to drop acid or to pump myself with uppers all afternoon. "

I think Emily can back me up on the Requiem for a Dream. I guarantee you could drop the percentage of kids who use drugs if you used that movie in health classes by 5th grade. Maybe again in 8th grade, for those who didn't understand it then. But we gotta catch them before they have already tried it.

Anyway I'm at work. I'm about to start an article on straight edge kids. Inspired by various articles and Jon Lasinski's obsession with hardcore. Normally within the hard core music culture, straight edgers do not smoke, drink or fornicate before marriage. Kinda the opposite of Fear and Loathing. Better get on that.

P.S. I brought Soup at Hand for lunch today. I tried the tomato soup crap and HATED IT! This is chicken and stars. Can you feel the anticipation building??
