Hellooooo.
Every once in a while I make it a point to read this funny blog about eiu, called the EIU Hall of Fame. It is run by Eastern's lost mascot, Billy Panther (who was replaced in recent years by the evil Prowler panther mascot). Today it was brought to my attention that I HAVE BEEN LINKED AS AN EASTERN BLOGGER!
Check it out!
http://www.eiuhalloffame.com/blog
In short, people might read me. I never realized how personal a blog actually was until I realized it might not be cool if people who didn't know me read the kind of crap I write. SO- all my super personal stuff will now be posted on this blog, which reamins a secret from my other friends and important people.
You guys will learn to love me.
P.S. The semester's almost over! Keep posting!! Diane, I know you're bored. Mmmkay, bye.

I am Thankful for...
So, Thanksgiving is coming up and here's a list of what I'm thankful for.
1. My roommate listens to NSYNC and is not afraid to admit it (and niether am I).
2. I don't go to SIUE anymore.
3. I get to eat tons of free food on Thursday...
4. ...and then get drunk with friends downtown.
5. We're not going to the Firehouse either.
6. My car hasn't died, and there are plenty of places to drive it for recreation around here.
7. My 22nd b-day was was better than my 21st.
8. I've gone to bed before 3 almost every night I've been here (with a few exceptions.)
9. Jack in the Box still tastes like heaven and is good for my pocketbook.
10. Ryan Reynolds is coming out with a movie that's in theatres on Wednesday. OH THAT'S TODAY!
11. I get to dress up as a pirate, wrestle people in a baby pool filled with spaghetti and search for a treasure chest filled with adult goodies to start off the new year.
12. Finally, (because I don't want to think any more), my new toy will be waiting for me to return to EIU after this week.
Yay god.
Happy Thanksgiving you all.

Today is a great day.
And the start of a fab week I'm sure.
Thanks all you guys for wishing me a happy birthday!
I am free for a friends Thanksgiving, although Saturday I want to go to Dave and Buster's because I've never been. It would be cool to go to Wild Country at some point, but if not, there's always Christmas break.
The Pirates theme is AWESOME. I wouldn't mind paying $10, I guarantee I end up spending that much anyway on booze for myself. I don't think too many people should have a problem with it. I actually thought about a pirate theme, I was thinking of Hook for some reason. Also, Johnny Depp is super sexy, and you can't go wrong starting a party with that. ALSO- it seems like you put a lot of thought and work into this one. Can I see if anyone here wants to come with me? Of course they'd pay... I don't know if anyone will but it's always great to ask if it's okay for one guest. Although I'm probably not gonna find a guy this short of notice. haha. Oh well all I need is you guys. It will b totally fun.
Starting around 3, I'm going to eat Jello shots and get ready for Pica Pole, which for those of you that don't know is the semesterly switching of the DEN editors positions. Marco gets to put on a dress, as is the tradition for the sports editors. Afterward, if we can hurry it up, we're going to BINGO so I can kiss the moose and win tons o' money. Then we're going to my house for more jello shots and spongebob/napoleon dynamite themed cake. Plus Jenni and Erin are at my house decorating for doign something, they're being secretive. And I hope the damn heating guy comes because my house is COLD AS ICE.
All in all, this bday is going to be fabulous. Then I get to see you people when I come home. I love you. Bye

Laura, Thanksgiving, New Years
Apologize in advance for such a long blog entry:
1st order of business
HAPPY 22ND BIRTHDAY LAURA!!!!
2nd order of business:
Does anyone want to do "Friends Thanksgiving" this year??? I would be more than happy to have it at my house and make like a ham or something good like that, if people will bring sides. Here are my available dates : Friday 18th, Sunday 20, Monday 21, Tuesday 22, Friday 25, Saturday 26. Please let me know guys, I really want to have it this year!
3rd and final order of business:
3rd ANNUAL NEW YEARS EVE BASH
I already have a theme for the New Years party, rather than try to satisfy everyone. This New Years is going to be a lot different than the ones in the past. I want this year to kick the other two years' asses. Not to say that I didn't have fun the past two years, because I had a freaking blast! But last year, I think, was decreased from the first year. This years' theme is "Pirates of Walnut st". Festivities will begin @ 1pm. There will be a $10 cover, no matter what! If you don't have it because you say you are "too poor" then don't come. Sorry, but I am also poor and forking out lots of money hoping to get some compensation back, unlike the past. Thats bullshit, I think, if you can't spare $10 for one day/night of pure fun and mayhem. I am open for suggestions to make this party more fun for all. At 1pm, we will start by watching Pirates of the Caribbean and drinking a sweet drinking game to the movie. I will also have spaghetti wrestling (in a mini inflatable pool). Later in the night we will have a treasure hunt. My brother and I are team captains and we will split into two teams. We will each have our "treasure chest" filled w/swt random crap. We will then, in our groups, hide our treasure in the neighborhood and try to make a treasure map. Then even later in the night we will split into our two groups and try to find the other person's treasure chest. The winners get the contents of the chest and maybe a swt prize, gift cards or something? I will also like to do trike races during the day??? Not real sure. So let me know if anyone has any swt ideas to make this party rock all!
Your $10 will cover:
keg beer
jello shots
pizza or grill burgers??
super juice???
spaghetti wrestling
movies
treasure chests
swt prizes
trike racing ??
bon fire ??
ALSO PLEASE COME IN A PIRATE THEMED COSTUME!

One of the Best Weekends Ever
Rachel, you couldn't have come with Diane unless you could have left Thursday morning and stayed until this afternoon (Sunday). In fact, Cory and Reg drove up on their own because they couldn't come until Friday. Here's how the weekend went.
Thursday
Diane got here shortly after I got back from "class" because really I skipped my second one. I couldn't find them because hey were in the library somewhere and I didn't know where. Me, Di, Jenni, Erin and BO'Malley went to Bingo (nobody won:(), and then met Megan at the Station and later Eric at the Uptowner. Then we went to Hatter's and met Renick and Marco and played us some darts, which coincidentally made Diane's arm sore. Then we went home and Hillary showed up eventually and Thill was there and him and BO'Malley were singing "Vagina," a song they made up (impromptu), which was HILARIOUS.
Friday
Cory and Reg meet Diane and me and Stephen Haas at Marty's for 4 o'clock club. Funny, they both got a beer before coming over to meet us. We see whats more important. Anyway so Cory's telling us this story and suddenly screams, "I'm gonna F*** YOU IN THE @$$!!" and everybody stared. It was funny. Then BO'Malley showed up and we ended up at Stephen's apartment with Marco and later on we went to Hatter's and Stephen was so wasted I lost him in a field, and found him, a lump on the ground. THEN me and Reg walked back and went to La Bamba's where he ran into a window because he thought it was a door. Then we walked home and talked about his chica back in C-dale, THEN we got home and left Cory on the couch and walked to BO'Malleys and they met Woike. Then I had to share my bed with Reg.
Saturday
We went to El Ranch for dinner and had beers, then drank at our house. Reg lost BAD at connections. Then he attempted power hour and lost miserably. 32 minutes, pssh. Eventually we went to Stix (or the PP) and then Hatter's and then Danielle drove our drunk asses home. We went on a search for Diane who left with Eric, and then Reg passed out on the floor and Cory got beliigerent (in a funny way) and then I shared the bed with Cory.
Sunday
We get up and they want Chinese buffet, so to QQ we went. And then they left me :( and I cleaned the house.
End of the longest weekend ever.
I'm sad :( but it was AWESOME

I AM SO HAPPY I MUST TYPE IN ALL CAPS.
ISNT THAT EXCITING?
Ok that's enough of the all caps. I hope tomorrow is as cool as I have been hyping it up to be.
Here's the itenerary:
THURSDAY- (today)
All I have to do is write a column for Aaron and Diane will come around 5 p.m. and BINGO is at 6:30 ish. We'll probably hit up Lefty's with the DEN kids. Hopefully Diane will be wasted and feel the need to sing karaoke.
FRIDAY
Cory (and possibly Reg) is coming up, and it's 4 o'clock club at Marty's. We're probably DEN-ning it up after that too.
SATURDAY
Dinner with some DEN ppl and Jenni and her friend Jenny.
Me and Diane must make an appearance at a penis-themed party called Weenistravaganza. Fun!
We probably need to go to Hatter's and possibly make it over to the PP BAG (Panther Paw Bar and Grill) (formerly known as Stix).
SUNDAY
Everyone leaves, and I do tons of homework. Boo this, man!

Someone shit on the coats!
Ok so I totally forgot about this thing until last night! Being home sucks. I'm working at NY&Co in grand ole Alton L7(square) and at Hoods. I don't think I'm going to massage here b/c the prices for a massage here are SHIT!!! I can't believe MT's make any money here! I'm probably going to go back down to Texas once Mike gets an apt after he grads and saves up some money. We are still kind of together and not. Its hard to explain.
I went to WIU my first weekend home and it was a blast! We got into TONS of trouble! One of the best weekends of my life!!! We got kicked off the drunk bus, had to push past RA's to get away b/c they were asking for id's and run out of the dorms, climb a 10 ft fence, and stole tables and chairs. We were real bad!
I went to SIUC for Halloween weekend to see Cory and stuff. It was a pretty good time. I got to meet his new gf!!!
This weekend I will I will be attending EIU to see Laura!!! Can't wait for that. It already sounds like its going to be a HUGE BLAST!!! I'm totally excited!
I think thats about it.
For everyone else still in Alton i.e. Em, Rachelowe, Thomas, Jen...CALL ME!!! Y'all sound so busy and I'm totally not so whenever you aren't doing anything or going to do something remember I'm back in town!!!
xoxo

Halloweenie
Once Erin Miller puts her pics online I will show you what I was.
Erin, Jenni, Megan and Hillary dressed as the Pink Ladies.
Renick was Tom Cruise from Risky Business (sans pants and all).
Aaron was The Dude from the Big Lebowski.
BO'Malley pinned white socks all over his shirt to be the White Sox.
That's about it.
It was fabulous.
Before that I got drunk with some Delta Sigs. There's one with red hair and he is hot. Then I found out he's my brother's age. He's still hot, only I feel like a wannabe pedophile.

I hate school!
Thanks Thomas, about the home de-POT positions, but my strike finally settled yesterday. So, tomorrow, back to work I go! They can bite it tho, cuz I'm not gonna be able to work on Friday, since I thought we were gonna be on strike I made other arrangements.
Friday Curtis and I leave for Indianapolis around 5:30sih am. Why you ask? Cuz I'm visiting two different Law schools out there, one in Indianapolis and the other in Bloomington. So I get to sit in on 2 different law classes, speak with two different admissions people, and get a tour of the schools. Good times, good times. Then Saturday I have two hockey games out there, and then sunday another 2 maybe 3 games. After the last game I get to rush home w/the quickness to go to chapter, which is of course "dress up". That blows! Good times, good times.
So far left for this week:
Work 8:30-4:30 Wednesday
Night class on Wednesday 6-7:15
Hockey on Wednesday 9:40-10:40
Hockey game on Thursday 10:15-11:15
Methods Test on Thursday
Bio Psych Test on Thursday
Paper due today
oh, and all my regular classes..... fun times :( !
I don't know about anybody else, but I'm really looking forward to this semester being over!
Well Gotta go to my last class of the day, then go by blockbuster, and study my ass off for the rest of the night!

Boo.
MMkay, let's see.
Week's lineup.
Intramural bowling!
Have to write a story about women's rugby.
Find a date to barn dance.
Write 10 pages of a play.
Review a book on the hauntings of Coles County.
Attend a pumpkin painting sisterhood with ASA.
Go to an educational. About what? I dunno.
Try to get a damn ticket to Guster on Friday.
Write the interview story about Guster for the Verge.
Pass out candy at Orchestra concert.
Halloween philanthropy on Saturday.
Lambda Chi and Sig Ep Oktoberfest @ Mom's afterward.
Chapter and safety seminar on Sunday.
...I may be missing a lot of this shit.
At least I only have one class Thursday. Yayuh!
Okay so I haven't talked to Matt in, oh- WEEKS. I just called him tonight because Erin said I should and after much thought decided maybe she was right. I was gonna ask him about his new job and all. He didn't answer his phone. And he might have good reason for it, but then again maybe not.
What would happen if I started being ultra demanding of guys and treated them like crap? Maybe I'd find someone finally. Argh. I'm sick of this aimless B.S. Later gaters.

weekend update..
Wow, no one has posted in a long time, and I just thought it was me who never posted. So I know october is like the best month ever, but I'm glad its almost over! School has been extremely insane this year and I'm really ready for this semester to be over with.
I'm still currently out of a job, since we have been on strike for over a week now. It really blows because I was poor to begin with, no I'm really poor and my debt is growing faster and faster.
Hockey has been awesome, we had our first game yesterday, I scored a goal, in fact our only goal since the final score was 1-1. I also had an awesome save, our goalie got pulled to the far right of the net, and the puck came bouncing out to the other side, where one of their players were, so they went to take a shot and I dove across the ice in front of the net and blocked the shot with my stick. It was quite possibly the greatest thing ever! Like something you see out of a movie! We all went out for drinks and it rocked! I'm so glad I'm 21 so I don't miss out on moments like that anymore. I heart my team! Next weekend is my INDY tourny, which I am really excited about, I'm also visiting 2 law schools while I'm out there, so thats good. Just have to make it past one paper, 3 articles, and 2 tests this week :( Such a bummer!!
Well I need to start on one of those many things that are due this week. So I'll post more l8er on!

Festivities
Pomping- For weeks, Sig Pi and ASA gathered in "The Hut" off of Harrison in town to pomp a Las Vegas-themed float for the parade. We got to know some of the guys, especially the pledges. Thursday, deadline time, I stayed till 2:30 a.m. I'm pretty sure the guys never left.
Yell Like Hell- Delta Sigma Phi should have won this cheerleading contest- which Eric Coalson participated in. We won "Who Wants To Be a Mascot?" during intermission-Sig Pi Jacques was pretty much the cutest little thing in his Thomas Late Night Pizza costume- and won the hearts of everyone there. He did the Napoleon dance, acappella.
Beer Breakfast- I learned that I'm not ready to drink beer at 7:30 a.m. My first beer today was like my Everest. About 1.25 hours to the bottom, but I finished it. Some of the girls were being shitty because of some shit that went down. Apparently they only did Homecoming with us to make us look good- which is actually sad but also very true, therefore we shouldn't be mad even if they DID say that. It was pretty much like an 8th grade dance, boys on one side, girls on the other. The pledges had to prepare the float, so we didn't really know anyone. I have nothing against the Sig Pi guys; I had fun. I just wish everyone else would have and I wouldn't have worried about it.
Parade- Instead of watching the 9:30 a.m. parade from the Sig Pi house, we watched without the guys (which is annoying) from one of my sisters' places on 7th. Me, the new girls, and a couple others sat on the curb and snatched as much candy as humanly possible. When the float came by I took like 8 pics. Too bad I couldn't get the other side... I was so proud. That feeling proved pomping defnitely paid off. I found the DEN ppl shortly after the parade was over and headed back.
Drinking with the DEN- After a beer run (yes, I drank 16 oz. Coors Light in a camouflage can) we headed to Megan's (campus editor) and chilled for a bit, around noon. We were going to help Renick (sports editor) hand out the gameday section at the game, but our services weren't needed after all.
QQ Buffet- It was time to get some food in us, so we went to the QQ Buffet and made ourselves half sick with tons of delicious, greasy Chinese food. This place is way better than China Buffet- come and see for yourselves.
-nap- Didn't mean for this to happen. "I'm going to lay down for a bit before I go to the game" lasted till 4:30 or so, which was sad because I wanted to at least catch half time and check out who won the float and overall Homecoming this year. Sig Nu and AST won 1st place in both I think. Our float came in second- which would have been obvious since there was only one decent contender (the winners, obviously)... Personally, ours was way better. But theirs was good, and bigger. So that's what happens I guess. Ours was still orgasmic, getting us 3rd place overall!
Journalism Chili Bash- Around 5:30 p.m., we headed to Friends and Co. (a bar) for the annual Journalism Chili Bash for free food and beer on JR (AKA to people who don't know any better "Professor Ryan") and the alumni. It was a good time had by all, as it always is- and I saw Amy and Kurt from the Argus (Amy went here and Kurt's gf did too), and we got a picture... we even let Aaron (opinoons editor, interned in Rock Island with me) in it. Haha. Tons of pictures were taken, including another sweet one of me, Megan and JR, as the tradition continues... I love drunk professors.
Movie Night- After the chili bash, I picked up the Amityville Horror from Family Video and watched it over in McKinney Hall with Danielle from my floor last year. She's an RA and underage so she can't drink, plus she was on duty. It scared the shit out of us (which is not surprising to me because I had seen it before) and then we watched Anchorman and I fell asleep. I got home around 2:30 a.m., took a shower, did some laundry, and it's currently 4:25 a.m. and soon I will go to sleep.
Great week. I know SIUE's is next week- I hope you have as much fun as I did Em...

I'm gonna get get get u drunk
Well, thanks thomas, I would have, but I think I would have gotten in trouble. I went to fright fest last night, which totally rocked my sox cuz we rode like almost every ride in the park! I went with 8 other of my sorority sisters. Good times, Good times. I'm chillin right now, about to go to the godfrey corn maze as soon as Curtis' daughter wakes up from her nap. Kinda strange, she's been here since 6pm last night, and I have yet to see her. What can I say, I know how to plan my weekends! These past couple of days have been fab-u-lus! When I get more time, I'll have to post all that went on. Well post more l8er.
I have to poo
Hey y'all. Sorry I haven't written. I've been sooo busy trying to get everything together. I still have so much to do before I come home! I'm trying to hang out with everyone before I leave and still trying to pack almost everything. I got my hair dyed so I will look a little different when y'all see me. There is a pic on my photobucket but you can't really see the rest. Its way different on the left side then the right. Anyway, I'm going to the falcons/saints game tomorrow. BIG FUN! I'm off. I have a birthday bbq to attend.

Verge night
Welcome to Verge night. As you know, it's midnight and we're bout half way through here. Haha. Only it's a special Verge night, because it's Homecoming week and there is a Panther Gameday sports guide coming out on Friday as well. Which means us Vergians (ha) are not alone.
Caleb is in town. I have a wicked picture of him from his internship and I am going to post it once I get home because I have a wicked wierd Mac problem complex. We don't get along. But I'm actually thinking about getting one for my graduation.
K Back to work!

Local 799
Well, went in for extra hours today, before our strike, and found out this isn't going to be like last strike. The last strike that my union had was years ago, and it lasted a whole 45 minutes before it was resolved. So, I was hoping that this would be the same, tomorrow marks the first strike day. It was very odd leaving work today, it just didn't seem right, like we were leaving for war or something along those lines, I guess we kind of are in certain aspects. Talks around my office and from one of the head union people we are looking like it'll be at least a month before this is resolved. So any job ideas for me? I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do as far as money yet... Well I'll let u guys know more l8er.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
Ok I'm just being extremely dramatic about things. It's not the end of the world.
This weekend fucking rocked, and I must say, for those of you who missed out, boo to you.
Fright Fest was extremely awesome. The Boss was the best thing since, well, since ever. Better than an orgasm. No joke!!!
Me and Rachelowe went to the Darkness on Saturday. My scaredy-cat ass wore earplugs, to protect myself from the chainsaw guy, and STILL screamed at pretty much EVERYTHING.
I needed a break from this place, and I got it, and it was fab. Almost makes me not wanna wait till Thanksgiving.
The boy thing is pretty much officially over. I haven't talked to him for longer than five minutes in the past two weeks, and I heard rumors that he came to visit his ex for a day this weekend. It isses me off so bad! I mean, he can do what he wants- especially since it's not going to work out anyway- but the fact that I told him that's why it was wierd between us and he constantly lied about it. We're not friends anymore.
Unless I have a change of heart later. But I don't see that coming any time extremely soon.

Well I guess this is growing up
Sup all. Not a whole lot at this end. I have a sweet break today between classes, I should have gone home, but I'd pry be doing the same thing there that I am here. Surfing the net, so stayin on campus saves butt tons on gas. Newho, played hockey last night and it rocked my sox. Its almost been a full week since Curtis has been offically living at my place. Its been ok so far, we'll see what next week brings. I just hope he is still looking for a place to live. He has his daughter next weekend though, which might serve as a problem, hmmmm, pretty much cuz he wont have a place by then. I think he's thinking I'll just let her stay too, but I think that might get kinda strange. very strange. Besides its not my responsibility.

random UPDATE
My roommate has me obsessed with a Fall Out Boy song, "Sugar, We're Going Down."
Verge night was last night due to fall break, making tonight the first Wednesday I don't want to die.
I'm covering VOLLEYBALL tonight from 7-9 p.m. Yeah, that's right. The sport I didn't play because I burned my eyeball with a curling iron.
I'm going to Fright Fest Friday and possibly the Crematorium Saturday night. All are welcome, no, I don't know times- ask Rachelowe. It's Halloween weekend come early.
The reason I'm coming home Friday morning instead of Thursday night is the reason the infamous "Crying Thursday" happened, drunken bingo.
--- Only this time I may try to pomp a float instead of continuation of my drunkeness.
There is a cute picture of me and my roommates: oh here it is:

I ate a shrimp tonight for the first time in years.
It's 6:09 right now... hehe.
That is all.... for now... mwahhahahahaha

Rachelowe- I love you to death but the only real way to solve your problem here is to work on not saying negative things to people, to anyone. Really there is no reason why Elly and David should not be together- because obviously they are, and it had to happen some way. I'm not saying you said she could do better- but it's still not nice to say anything even remotely close to that. Go up to her in person and explain yourself- tell her you're sorry and you really don't think that and who knows? Maybe she'll calm down.
And the DEN Bar crawl 2005 turned out to be fun, but not so crawley- and I cried twice which had nothing to do with alcohol. Stupid boys. and Family weekend.

This Weekend and Next Weekend
Emily, I'd love to wait for you but I will probably have to go to Fright Fest on Friday because I have to get up and drive back to Chucktown, USA early Sunday morning for meetings and whatnot.
It's busy for me too! So I hear ya. I know you have a lot more there going on, but classes, the DEN and ASA are pretty much ruling my life.
I'd come back but it's my only free weekend, as I said. Maybe Saturday we can go to a haunted house or something after u get done with stuff. That way I get to do both, and we can hang out- because haunted houses don't take as long and don't wear you out as much as Fright Fest.
The Sig Eps at SIUE must be NOTHING like they were when I was there. I was pretty sure they were the biggest douches ever. But I'm glad you had fun, maybe we should have a mixer like that. I'll bring that shit up.
Glad everything's going well with Curtis. I, on the other hand, am probably about to lower my "almost not single and not realy wanting to be" status back down to "single and ready to mingle" here in a bit. It's just not working out. I can't make him happy because I'm probably not the one for him, although I am the type- I'm probably not the person. And when I can't make him happy I depress myself and feel inadequate so although the guy is one of the best guys ever- it's just not healthy right now for me. We were going to try and meet in Champaign for dinner but he has to work late now and I have sorority shit. I guess we'll try it later in the week.
As for this weekend---- which begins- oh NOW. I'm writing stories, doing a community service walk at 7 p.m., pomping the float from 8 to 10 p.m., meeting the girl's at madHatter's for a drink, and calling it a night. Tomorrow I have a meeting at noon with photo, then the FALL 2005 DEN BAR CRAWL from 4 p.m. to whenever I feel like passing out. Saturday is pomping from 2 p.m. to whenever, then either a live band on 11th Street or a FREE haunted house (if I miss one it'll be the band), prefereably I'll go to both. Sunday I have a training session for editors at 5:30 p.m. and formal chapter at 7 p.m.
A semi-relaxing weekend. YESSSSSSSSS.... okay, gtg.

Its finally starting to feel like fall!!
Yes, I haven't been on this thing in forever. My days are jammed packed w/ Psych club, CJ club, Delta Phi Epsilon, HNA Hockey league, St Louis Surge hockey league, classes, studying, Curtis, and my job. So that pretty much explains what I have been doing the past month. Laura, I don't think I'd be able to go to fright fest with you, that weekend just doesn't work for me. Friday night I have an extra credit thing I have to go to form 7-9 in the UC. (Unless u plan on going late or something). Then saturday I have Blast Practice(HNA team) from 6-7:30 in Brentwood, and st louis surge practice form 7:30- 8: 30 in st peters ( which I do believe is the south rink w/no showers) cuz I would say I'd just take a shower there and meet u guys at fright fest, which might work if u guys go on Saturday. I could have them just let me take a shower in the other building or something. Let me know what night you guys are going.
I know the extra credit isn't much on friday, but I really want to make an A in the class, and I'll do whatever it takes, since I'm trying to raise my GPA.
October is really full for me, but if anyone wants to go to fright fest again, or whatever I'm free on Saturday 15, or Friday 21st. Just let me know.
I went to silo x last weekend and it rocked my socks, it was a mixer between DPHIE and the SIGEPs, it was the best time ever! The after party was at Townsend's and Donny's house in e-ville. Where we played flippy cup and beer pong. I must say, I have a lot of sigep friends now cuz I rocked the house, I was the "ringer". Donny is freakin awesome, we drew on everyone w/permanent markers, I'll post the pix sometime on my webshots. I heart the SIG Eps!
Curtis and I are doing freakin awesome! He closes on his house tomorrow, and still hasn't been able to find a decent place to move into. He's tryin to get a duplex in E-ville, but there are several other people who are interested in it as well. I get to go look at it tonight w/him around 5. If he gets it he wont be able to move in until the 15th, so he is gonna be stayin w/me until then. He has a couple more houses in Alton that he wants to look at, so I hope he finds somewhere. I don't think it'll be a problem, him living w/me and all. We are over at each other's houses all the time anyways, and I can't tell u the last time I stayed alone in my house. Somehow this always happens when I have a boyfriend, oh well.
I'm slowly starting to get over the whole "daughter" thing. Maybe it wont be so bad, I've offered to take him and her to the corn maze in godfrey pry on the 15th or 22nd. So lets hope that goes ok. Its really not the "daughter" that bothers me, more like the EX. She's a total bitch and tries to make his life a living hell, I found out the other day Grace (daughter) doesn't even have Curtis' last night, thats kinda gay. The reason why the EX bothers me is if Curtis and I were to ever get serious I see her as being a huge problem, and I'm not a fan of baggage. Well I need to get to class, but I might post later after cleaning my house, I promised Curtis I would try to make it not look like a total mess before he stays with me.

RACHELOWE
Dude I was referring to you and the people who said no as separate entities. It's just you and me buddy- and the pigman apparently.
If ASA makes me pomp on Friday, I will go fucking nuts. It's the DEN Bar Crawl and I've already made plans.

Holy God I'm famous!!!
Go to http://www.theshadowlands.net/places/illinois.htm and see what i'm talking about.
This fantabulous Web site has been a friend of mine since Cougar Village when I looked up all the haunted places in Illinois. It got me excited about Eastern because Pemberton Hall is listed as a place. Alton wasn't mentioned as many times is as needed, but it makes sense because the entries are written in by readers.
Now for the famous part-
If you'll kindly look up Ashmore (it is in alphabetical order) you will see that they do updates on all the places listed- and months after I wrote an article concerning it THEY LINKED ME!!!
So if you haven't read my article, you should. And if you don't I know crazy ghost fanatics in the area might. My sisters called me tonight asking me where it was cuz they had read my article and wanted to go out there. God I'm famous.
OH and P.S. Rachelowe and everyone who said no to Fright Fest--- and whoever went last year- go here:
http://www.theshadowlands.net/places/missouri.htm
Check it out man, Six Flags St. Louis is listed as a haunted place- by three specific ghosts- on of which is actually named Pigman who roams the back service roads at night. PIGMAN'S REVENGE!!! Suddenly that hayride doesn't seem so stupid after all.
OH Shit and one more thing. Haunted houses here are sending me free tickets to go review their shit. HOLD ON BABIES ITS GONNA BE A FUN RIDE THIS OCTOBER!!!!! If I don't die from extreme happiness that is.

One weekend; two extremes
My weekend started on Thursday.
Matt came in the morning, and I thought the first day went well. We hung out, relaxed, just what he likes to do- and I was more comfy with him this time since I know his ex is okay with this.
We went to El Rancherito and had dinner with Erin and Matt Stevens. We had some beers. I was having fun, and I was so happy I literally smiled at him the whole time. He made me practically glow.
That night, we went to Hatter's and he got drunk and I got sober, and I don't really know what was going on butit seemed like every time I talked to him it was wierd and he didn't want to, so he would walk away. The only things he would say reminded me of Andy, playful making fun of me (something I never would have expected to get from him.) We went home, and he passed out on my couch. I took a shower and got on the Internet. I saw him the next morning around 8 p.m. when Thill got home and woke us up- I would have expected him to come lay with me, but I would have been wrong.
Friday he decided not to stay for Stephen's party, but he did actually go to some of it. This time, I got drunk and not him. Since he had to drive home. When I had some beers in me I told him I knew he was mad because he thinks that I hate his dog. He still denied it. Later that night it got wierd again. He left Stephen's and I walked him to his car to leave. The dog jumped out of the car and ran down the street, ruining the mood. I didn't kiss him once this weekend. I shut the door and told him to drive safe. When he got home he called to say he made it, and I said "is that all you called for?" He said we would talk tonight after my parents left. I texted him ack after I left Stephen's and set out to rid my house of dog hair- and I told him I understood. He said "understood what?" So I don't know if we're on the same page or not, but I don't really want to talk to him because if he breaks this off then I have been dumped. When in actuality I should probably end it before he gets that chance. But we'll see what happens.
I'm sick of fighting the dog. He's not over hix ex. He's not the type of person who wants to tell me I'm something special (I'm beginning to know what bothered Andy about me not literally telling him he was special to me, just because I thought he should already know that). I would say he's not one for any pda, but I know that's untrue because I saw him with his ex. I'm willing to give him any time he needs- I'm not a bitch. But I must say-I deserve better than having to wait all my life for something that could possibly never happen, so I can't say I will be waiting around doing nothing while he moves on, and I can't say I will for sure still be around when he's ready for something. If it would even work out, which at this point is looking like about a 5 percent chance.
On the other hand, my parents came this weekend for family weekend. I need to get my pics developed and then you'll know how it goes around here. I took them to Aaron's and we partied with all the DEN people. It was a blast. Then I made them go to Hatter's. They're still not the bar type of people.
Well, I'm going to work on some homework and possibly nap- and take my camera in for developing- before chapter.
Rachelowe- sounds good for that weekend. Friday seems good for me. I might have to get up early Sunday and drive back for a meeting. I MIGHT be home Thursday night, unless something comes up. Later

I'm going crazy!!!
Hey y'all. Sorry I haven't posted. I've been working at least 10 hrs a day. Usually around 12. Anyway nothing much has been going on. Angie and Chris leave tomorrow for home. I get the house all to myself. I massaged a hot ass 42 year old doctor. He was all riped and gorgous. I got a $55 tip for giving just a 50 minute massage. I almost hit a lady with the Jeep. I hit a racoon with the Accord. Mike and I are still together. My room is a mess and I'm on the rag. Cheers!

Welcome to the fold, Aussielowe
That's cool you're getting a cat.
I can't have indoor pets. they would literally make me want to die, a little like I wanna die now. You will all know in more depth if you read my column which is on www.thedailyeasternnews.com
I wrote it because Matt's here. I thought tonight was going really well but he got drunk and he's being really standoffish. And the only thing I can get him to talk about is his dog, to which he replies, "You hate Wrigley."
I cannot get him to understand that I am just not a dog person plain and simple. But I think it would mean something that I have the dog in my house anyway, not to mention I'm breaking my lease for something I don't even like, just because I like being around him. Ultimately, I think the dog wins.
We were (my roommate and I) were trying to get him to stay through tomorrow night to go to my friend Stephen's birthay party, but he hasn't said yes or no, which for most people is a lean toward no.
I think things are falling apart, and I'm really upset right now. Not as upset as I woud normally be but that's because I have bite marks up and down my arms from trying to teach the mongrel to get the fuck off my furniture. Little dogs I can handle at times... this one, is NOT LITTLE.
He passed out on my couch and the dog wouldn't quit barking, so I left and I took a shower and now I'm typing this. It's been an hour since we got back from Hatter's. I can't tell if he's asleep or not, but I wish he was sober. If he was I would tell him I don't feel the wierdness between us anymore, I'm not worried about Hillary, and I would like to make this work. But I can't work miracles and I think I may have to stop this if it doesn't get any better. I'm tired, and I can't do this much longer. It feels terrible.
Here's the column:
==================
Can't Live With 'Em... indoors
I can't imagine sharing a living space with a dog. I don't plan on doing so in this lifetime or any other, especially since having pets goes against my lease anyway. But, I'll bet it wouldn't be a lot of fun.
Last spring, the girl I was trying to get a house with had a dog. Lily was one of the smallest, sweetest dogs I have ever come into contact with, but she made signing a lease nearly impossible. Other possible roommates were ruled out as well because they wanted to bring their dogs to school, and time, as well as the decreasing number of vacancies in Charleston, was not on my side.
When I was younger, I loved animals. My first dog's name was Rusty. Rusty roamed my subdivision freely, and like others before him, he was dubbed the beloved "neighborhood dog."
One day, Rusty didn't come home. My dad broke the news to my 11-year-old self and my little brother that a car killed Rusty. We were heartbroken.
Years later, our wounds had healed, and we sprang for a new furry friend. He was all white with little patches of brown on his head and backbone. We called him Hershey.
We didn't know what to do with Hershey, since the family unanimously decided the indoors were no place for a dog. They drool and shed all over and trigger some wicked allergies.
The only thing we knew was Hershey would not suffer the same fate as his yellow-lab mix predecessor.
Since our backyard was small and we had limited options, we tied him up, giving him about a 10-foot roaming radius. It began as a temporary solution. That was 10 years ago.
One might argue that my family is horribly inhumane and that Hershey is a poor mistreated pup. I won't be surprised to hear from animal lovers all over campus, but I must agree to disagree about my dog's living conditions.
Hershey is healthy, lean and muscular. He has a healthy appetite and has suffered no diseases, to my knowledge, since the day we got him. He's lived almost nine and one-half years longer than Rusty.
He certainly hasn't suffered from any lack of love or affection. Not a day goes by that my dad doesn't spend at least an hour of quality time with him. If I were home, I'd make it a point to go see him more often than I do now.
The only time he's ever been inside the house was once when he was a puppy. Since all he ever did was sleep when he was small -the polar opposite of the way he is now- we put him on a carpet square in the walkway to our front door. That's the extent to which he's tasted the life of an indoor pet.
He hasn't had it any worse than any of our other pets. The only ones that have made it inside my house have been those that lived in tanks or small cages.
Besides, what do people suggest we do with Hershey? I'm sure he'd have a better life at the pound. Or better yet, we could have just had him put to sleep once we realized maybe a dog wasn't the pet for us.
Although he smells a little funky and gets overly hyper at times, and although I'm not the biggest fan of his kind, he's still my dog. He has a special place in my heart, as he has since the day we brought him home.
What is good for some people can't always be good for others, and the real truth is, Hershey doesn't know any better. Maybe what he doesn't know really can't hurt him after all.

Man, you're crazy.... you're crazy but I love you.
Cory- I'd love to hang out. I gotta make sure my parents don't plan on coming to parents weekend first. Otherwise it won't be fun. Cuz I don't wanna drink or hang out with friends and leave my parents to themselves. I'll let you know if they plan on coming or not.
Matt's coming tomorrow. Excited!

You guys suck.
Rachelowe- if you have to work during the day I might hit you up on that offer for a haunted house the weekend of Oct. 7-8, but it will be just you and me.
Everyone is busy, broke or out of town. This Halloween quite possibly might suck a big one.
I think I have it figured out tho. Come home Friday afternoon- hang out with the parents. Fix my computer. Go to church Saturday night, maybe some dinner with the grandparents. Maybe shop for a new computer. Wake up super early and drive back to my beloved Chucktown.
But like I said, if you can go to Fright Fest or a Haunted House I can def. make time. Other than that- that's my plan. It's the last time I'll be home until Thanksgiving! I gotta at least check out your apartment.

Holy hell my schedule is packed!
Let's see... Oct. 21...
probably no good there buddy. It's ASA parents weekend and my parents might come. I can let u know if they don't, but yeah- it won't be much fun if you guys sit at my house while me and the rents go do sorority stuff.
Weekends coming up:
*this weekend- Sept. 23- Stephen Haas turns 24- big ass party down the street on Friday, parents maybe coming up Saturday for EIU Family weekend, have to cover a football game sunday for sports writing.
*Sept. 30- DEN Bar Crawl- only the best day of the semester, Friday. Alpha bowl philanthropy at noon/all day Saturday.
*Oct. 7- Fall break- probably coming home to get my computer fixed and possibly look for a new one. Maybe a haunted house, who knows?
Fright Fest still ANYONE?!? do I have to go by myself? cuz I will- I did that shit all summer hehe. Oh plus I need to switch out for some winter apparel.
*Oct. 14- Hopefully Joaquin, Kevin, April and several others come back for Homecoming- plus it's going to be hella busy with the Sig Pis and tons o' partying with both the DEN and the sorority. Who to choose....
*October 21- Parents Weekend for ASA. Maybe the rents will come. Again, I'll let u know.
*Oct. 28- I didn't want to have to do this but it looks like I might be going to a journalism conference in Kansas City, MO. over Halloween Weekend. Yes, I will bring along my fake blood. I hope the stains don't bother my potential employees.
*Nov. 6- HOLY SHIT A FREE DAY- before D-Days start for my sorority on Sunday. No drinking! WOO.
*Nov. 11- Gotta cover a swim meet for sports writing Friday night, then if ASA gets off social probation I'm hitting up semi-formal. Maybe I'll have a date this year.... who doesn't suck monkey balls. Elections all day sunday for ASA.
*Nov. 18- Holy Moly it's my birthday weekend!! Technically my birthday is on a Thursday, so I'm planning on making everyone here go play bingo with me and get wasted. Party it up all night. Drive home Friday for Thanksgiving break. Party at home with whoever's there. Get drunk some more. Have a peaceful break. Get some fricking rest. P.S. Harry Potter 4 is on at the movies. I'm going to see it. Who's coming with me? Again, not scared of going alone.
*Nov. 24- Will I be at home? At school? Break is ending but who knows what I'll feel like??
*Dec. 2- ANOTHER BREAK! Until something gets added later on the events calendar.
*Dec. 9- Senior sendoff for the semester girls at ASA on Friday, ASA Christmas Party on Saturday.
FINALS WEEK- The one week you crazies all dread and we journalists LONG for. No paper, no homework, sometimes no finals.... getting drunk every night. God finals week is cool.
*Dec. 16- Coming home?? We shall see. Since I have a house I may not be coming home until most ppl here are gone. We will see- maybe by this time I will long for home.
So there you have it. My life. Or bits and pieces of it. I'm sure more will be added to the calendar. I didn't include any social events with ASA or any of the fraternities. Delta Sig usually has a festivus- which I so rudely missed at Caleb's last year. PICA POLE- oh that will be fun. Plus weekends when I gotta see Matt- if this lasts. Which I hope it does! I guess this weekend is another deciding factor. I'm going to try my hardest to get past the wierd. Gotta love it.

Just Let Me Know
Hey guys,
If no one can go that weekend I need to know (Thanks for letting me know Rachelowe and Emily) because then I may or may not be coming home that weekend.
I probably will because I need to get a new computer and get my old one fixed, but I probably won't be staying as long. And I won't have Matt come with me. So yeah, let me know.
GTG to class....

Almost Fall!!!!
I am very excited about the fact that its beginning to get colder outside. Laura ~ I'd be more than happy to go to six flags w/u BUT I have stuff that weekend... :( I need to go get bonus at this lecture thingy on friday from 7-9, I don't know if I could go real quick and sign the sheet and leave, or how that'll work. Then on saturday I have practice @ 7:30. And I really don't want to skip that cuz we have a tournament at the end of the month and I'm payin out the ass to play, so I need to be there.
newho, my teacher let us out early today, which gave me a two hour break... So that is why I am home right now, cuz I wasn't about to sit at school bored off my ass. Besides, I threw in some laundry so I am at least somewhat productive for bein home.
Curtis has kinda been a butt lately, I think he is really afraid of loosing me, but I don't know why. I guess cuz I just need a little bit of space, I have a test on Thursday, Monday, and Tuesday, and I have a jammed-packed weekend on top of that. But he's been really clingy the last week or so and its starting to wear down on me.
Well I should pry try to be a little more productive on this sweet break, since I have 30 minutes before I have to go back :(

STEVE HOLT!
Omy god this show (Arrested Development) keeps getting better and better. It seriously is my favorite show- that and CSI (the original).
I can't wait till the second season comes out on DVD. I guarantee Woike will buy it and I will either mooch or show up at their house a lot to watch it. PLUS- season 3 is now on Mondays on Fox at 7:30, which is a completely do-able time for me. For once. It used to be on Sundays during my chapter meetings. THANK GOD. And Fox.

Haunted Houses and Carnivorous Escaped Seals
Rachelowe-
I hope you can go to Fright Fest! I understand the strapped for cash thing though so I may or may not get to go to a haunted house that weekend. Like I said, it also depends on if Matt comes too- I don't know how long I'll get to stay in that case. BUt I'll let you know.
Diane-
Are you getting excited yet? COME HOME AND VISIT ME!
Emily-
I'm glad you got your relationship stuff settled. Congrats, and I hope you're happy with your choice.
Cory-
Love the drunken phone calls. I know it's been a while but I never got a chance to say that.
Thomas-
I played the Momma song the other day.
Momma, you know I love you.....
AS FOR ME- Season 3 of Arrested Development starts tonight. And I'm watching it down at the guys' place.
"I LOVE JUICE!!!!"- Buster

Long Weekend
Just a short note, because thats all I really have time for anymore. Formal recruitment is finally over, so now its time to catch back up on all my other stuff, like work and classes. I totally failed a test last week that I'm kinda bumed out about. But I'll just have to do twice as good next time around. I haven't had time to read your guys blogs but I will do that soon pry tomorrow. Well I should pry go, I'm tired and Curtis wants to get on the net. So I'll post more tomorrow and tell you guys about my weekend and such. Bye
Who's ready for fake blood and rollercoasters?
It's getting near that time. I know Diane doesn't come home until later but I can really only go this one weekend so I need you guys' feedback.
The weekend I can go to Fright Fest is the weekend of my fall break- Oct.7-9. I never have classes on Fridays anyway but this is the only day I can guarantee I won't have ASA stuff I have to go to.
Oct. 7 is a Friday. I asked Matt if he wants to come but he has to see if he has off work that weekend. If I come alone, I'll probably be home Thursday Oct. 6 and we can go either Friday night or Saturday night, and I'll come back for my meeting early Sunday or whatever. If he comes, I probably won't stay home as long because he prolly won't get off as long as I can. (That didn't sound right somehow.) I would personally rather go Friday night. Maybe even if Matt comes, I can get home late Thursday if I have to, hang out Friday night and we can leave on Saturday if he has to. We'll see.
I'd really like you all to meet him if he comes. If not- I'd still really like to see you all and share the fun of halloween and my obsession with you. Emily, I know you have season tickets. Please let me know what works best for all of you and try (if you can help it) not to make permanent plans on that weekend. Especially not Friday night. I will update you all as soon as I know for sure what's going on but I am definitely coming home that weekend, with or without my cute boy.
Hit me up!

When life hands you lemons put them in your bra to make your boobs look bigger
My mommy got in an accident the other day with my neon. She was stopped at the light on West Delmar and Pierce. Some guy rear ended her causing her to hit the car in front of her. She took Roxie into Freer and the neon is only worth 1600 and the damage is 2200. They haven't comfirmed it yet but she is basically totalled. Depending on how much the insurance company will sell it back for and how much it will take for my daddy to fix it we might get it back if its under whatever they give us for it but if not then Roxie will no longer be with us. So now I guess I'm looking for a car.
Should I still come home? So when I say I'm coming home good stuff starts happening for me in SA and bad starts in STL.
Good in SA
-I was offered to be a key holder at Aero which is like an assistant manager but with a little less responsibilities, but turned it down b/c I don't want to work in retail, I didn't/won't be going to school for that, and I had already decided to move home. I have my chance to really shine at Aero b/c we got all new manager and they suck!!! I'm doing a ton of work I don't have to do to keep the store the way it was (which was one of the best!) They don't know how to handle our Aero b/c we are a testing store so our store is waaaaay bigger in comparison to the rest of the Aeros.
-Now DASA wants to work me at the Marriotts where I won't be on call anymore. I'll have a perminate position with them.
-Then I got another call for a massage job, but I didn't call them back since I'm moving and all.
Bad in STL
-No freaking car when I come home.
Which this isn't all that bad but I'm really into signs. Are these signs I should stay?!?!
Cory--
Since I want to go into physical therapy SWIC is one of the only schools around that offer the program and guess what the other closest school is...SIUC. I said something to my mom about going there and she was all like "yeah, ok, let me send you there with Cory so you both can fail out." I don't think she thinks its a good idea for me to go there. haha

Yay for new Alphas!
Recruitment is over!!! And has been for a day, but I have been too busy until now, at five after midnight- to post anything on it. We didn't meet quota, but we were only three away, and we can still snap up to 16 more girls this semester. This is the best Alpha Sigma Alpha has done here in eight years apparently. Which is a sure fire sign we're on the turn-around. We got 33 beautiful and great ladies. And the very first girl I met is now my ASA lil' sis. Her name is Gena, but its pronounced Jenna. I hope I can be a lot better of a big sis than mine was. I don't even know if mine is still an ASA. I don't think she is actually.
It's going to be exciting getting to know them, before I have to graduate :(
Our shirts are kinda cute. They are the NFL symbol only they say ASA in Greek. And on the back it says "Nation's Finest Ladies" "We scored the top picks!"
YAY FOR ALPHA SIGMA ALPHA!
Good luck, Emily, recruiting future D Phi E's. You won't need it. They'll know who's worth hanging around on campus.

Back on track...
Well, I don't know where to begin. I want to first say thank you everyone for support and what not,, and some really good feedback. No, Curtis' is not in the porn industry for one. Another thing, after thinking about it all weekend an partially this week I realize that I was the one at fault and it was my doing of why he acted the way he did in Carrollton and my fault that I broke up with him. No, I am not brain washed but I have been talking to him a lot, esp about why things went down the way they did.
(last week:)
Thursday we went and saw a movie and he had just gotten a new phone (basically the same as mine but a newer version) the night before. So like most guys he was playin with it all night trying to figure out how everything worked. So I was showing him how to send text messages back and forth, but we weren't recieving each others. So then the movie started and we didn't have time to figure out what was goin on with it. When we finally made it back to my house I was so exhausted I just went to bed. He, however, stayed up and tried to figure out what was goin on w/the phones. So its not like he was snooping on purpose. But when he looked in my inbox for those messages he saw some that looked iffy, so he read some of them. ... Yes, I have been talking to Marc and Adam still, and he read their messages to me. He knew who they were and what types of relationships I've had w/them, since I was dating all 3 at once and kept it open between all guys. So he read some stuff he didn't like EX: "we don't have to do anything sexual" I comment from adam because he wanted to come down this upcoming saturday. and from adam "we will see each other soon and I will make it well worth it"
So now you guys can see why he ignored me and "wanted to talk to me but wanted to wait till after the wedding on sunday". Thats what he wanted to talk to me about, just like most people he has been cheated on many of times, and I don't blame him for the way he acted, he didn't know what was going on and he didn't want to start a huge fight up in Carrollton. I feel like an idiot about everything that happened. And he promised me that he would never do that ever again, but instead come to me right from the start. And I believe him, because we have never had a problem until last friday. I'm just glad he acted like that and not worse, cuz if it were the other way around I would pry never talk to him again or something along those lines. So right now I'm just deciding if I want this relationship or not. His daughter is adorable but it was waaay to early for me to meet her. So we will see what happens.
About the whole gay/metrosexual~ I don't think that he is gay. I've actually talked to him about it, I didn't come out and ask him if he was gay, but I told him that he had many metrosexual activities and such that had me worried. So we talked about all that and he explained it to me. 1st off he said he is really sensitive and what not because of past relationships, he said that was what other girls always told him they liked, so after being told so many times he just began to do those types of things, because he thought that was what girls wanted.
I hope this clears everything up

Was Cory drunk when he wrote that?!?
Emily-
The dog= Wrigley, Matt's dog.
Matt= from Roscoe, which is near Rockford. Way north. Currently he is 1.5 hours away working at a newspaper in Danville, Ill.
Sorority recruitment wrap-up=
1st round= met tons of nice girls and only 1 or 2 not so nice ones.
2nd round= made sock puppets for the S. June Smith Center for kids with special needs (much like the Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Want to Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too, only not)Met 4 new girls and one I'd already met.
Preference night (today)= Met one new girl and had two I'd already known. Several girls came back that I rushed, including Stephanie, Danielle, Gena, Jenna, Tory and Jamie. I hope they get in our house! I'm excited. 114 people came to our pref parties, and our goal is 49. Cross your fingers!
Bid Day= is Tuesday. Yesssssss rush is over!!
Yeah thanks Em! Good luck with yours too. you'll do great!!!!
So exciting :)
Classes=
Hate them. For the most part. They just keep me from getting shit done, pretty much. Gotta talk to my sports writing teacher to work out a deal on covering events that happen to not work out with my schedule.
Family=
Mom's friend Donna died. She's real sad, but I suck at helping ppl feel better about these things. What to do, what to do.
Fright Fest=
Weekend of October 7-9. It's fall break, no classes Friday (not that I EVER have classes on that day, but the thing is- the sorority won't have shit I have to do. Probably banking on Friday evening, but I'll keep you posted if anything changes. Let me know that there will be anough ppl going. I wish we could wait for Diane but the rest of October I have stuff to do for the most part. Maybe not Halloween weekend, we'll see if I end up having to do with the DEN to Kansas City.
Boys=
Can't get over the wierdness. Shouldn't say can't- more like haven't completely been able to yet. Really want to though, on both our parts. He's so damn special. He went to a strip club this weekend with a bachelor party and couldn't have fun because he FELT BAD for the strippers. I don't know why, but I feel like the insensitive male in this instance. Maybe because I enjoy a good gay, naked shower on a bar. But maybe I think it's funny. U would too if you havent already seen it (so I'm specifying this to Thomas and Cory I guess, haha)
Verge=
Going great. Getting used to deadlines, now that sorority stuff should be dying down. Also, weare getting good writers, and maybe soon I won't have to do much else other than planning and checking. Which is what I should be doing instead of writing.
Roommates=
Erin just flipped out because there's a bug in her room. Jenni is doing laundry here and they were both taking fotos of fake Fendi and Louis Vuiotton (sp?) bags to sell on eBay. Thill is gone. His idea of roommate bonding time lasted until Amy (his ladyfriend) called him over to her house. I am not on his computer, for mine has a virus. I might be needing a new one.
The DEN=
Went out last night. Schroeder (who hasn't hung out in forever), Haas (who recently returned to Chucktown), Erin, Jenni, Meinheit (who used to be the EIC) and several others went to Megan's (who lives with 3 Lambda Chi guys) for a fatty Lambda Chi party then we went to Hatter's, and LaBamba's (yuck) and saw plenty of other DENer's there. Never a sober night with these guys. When we left we came back here (Jenni, Erin and I) and snacked on White Castle microwaved cheesburgers, Fridays' bacon cheddar potato wedges, Cheez-Its (yes, Diane) and HALLOWEEN OREOS (again, shut yo mouf). Then BrainO'Malley came down because it's not a sleepover till BO'Malley arrives.
That, that's pretty much everything. That will make up for smaller posts I leave during the week that don't make sense. Enjoy.

"Keep Pushin On"
Laura~ Thanks dood, yes that is a good song to listen to. I've been listening to REO nonstop today... esp this song:
Keep Pushin
I used to be lonely till I learned about livin alone
I found other things to keep my mind on
And I'm gettin to know myself a little bit better
Whoa , I keep pushin on
Keep pushin on, yeah
Goin through all the changes I made so many mistakes, oh yes I did
Tryin to leave behind the heartaches
And sometimes I think I was a little bit crazy, oh yeah
Whoa, I keep pushin on
Keep pushin, keep pushin, keep pushin, keep pushin on
Keep pushin, keep pushin, you know you have got to be so strong
Keep pushin, keep pushin, well even if you think your strength is gone
Keep pushin on
(solo)
Well it's comin together I finally feel like a man, oh yes I do
I never thought that I'd be where I am, oh
Everyday I wake a little bit higher
Whoa I keep pushin on, oh yeah
(repeat chorus)
Well minus the feel like a man part... substitute woman there.. hehe...
Its kinda sad, I can't stop thinking about him, and what he is doing right at this very moment, and if he is thinking about me.... Blah! I'm glad I'm gettin outta my house tonight for sorority stuff, good luck w/urs Laura, mine starts tomorrow, and I'm kinda nervous about talking to all the different girls and hopeing to make a good impression for DPHIE.
Who's dog? Where is Matt from and where does he live now? Sorry I'm tryin to catch up on this blog thing... Well I better go read for my test on thursday cuz I'm not gonna have that much time this week...

"I will survive"
I used to sing that song and think about ex boyfriends. Once I had it up as an away message and Andy got mad because it was kind of hurtful.
"I'm not that chained up little person still in love with you."
Main point-----> Emily,
I'm sorry to hear the news, but I'm glad you're dealing well. I don't think Curtis is gay. I don't know him well or anything but he sounds more metro than anything.
But I am really happy you're dealing well. Chin up lady, you'll find someone great. Just be glad you found out that he wasn't so special now and not years from now or even months from now as things progressed even further. And you learn something new from every experience like this that you have. It may suck, but it makes you a better person in the long run, and don't you forget it.
Feel better, if you need to call anyone hit me up. If I don't answer my phone I'll call you back as soon as I can (rush is still happening). My computer has a virus so I only have the internet in the DEN.
This weekend.
Rush is a blast. It gets a little annoying talking to so many damn people (So far I met 14 girls 1st round, 4 second round and tonight is pref night. We're supposed to get someone we already know but we'll see.) And it gets louder than hell in that room with 60 girls talking to about 40 PMs (potential members).
Matt's visit Wednesday and Thursday.
The dog pissed me off like all hell until about Thursday night. He sheds everywhere and slobbers everywhere. And barks like crazy. I want to dropkick him over a bridge every so often. Also, he's really needy and cuts down on me and Matt time, when we have to baby him. Spoiled. Ugh.
Anyway the me and Matt thing is still going on. We both still want something to really happen (meaning a real relationship) but we are still working on getting over the wierdness of his ex girlfriend being a friend.... he's getting over her still for the most part, I'm getting over the fact that they were together and now theyre not, and we are trying to get used to being more than friends. Sometimes its awkward. But we're working on it. Between that and the distance it's hard, but I'm willing to do most anything really. And so is he.
He's so pretty. And sweet. And just what I need.
Alright, well, I gotta get outta here, shower, do myself up, get into my black pref night dress and head over to the house. Have a good day everyone.

Weekend gone sour....
Well, right now I'm suppose to be at a wedding, curtis' twin sister's wedding that is. But I am not, because I ended our relationship last night. So in doing so he drove me back home round 1 in the morning from Carrollton. I was really depressed last night, esp since I drank, but now I'm much better. When you meet someone's whole family and some friends, you really see that person for what they are, and he was an ass needless to say. I'm kinda sad things didn't work out, but its for the better. I'm gettin kinda good at this whole breaking up thing and coping with it, I guess I just wasn't 'in love' as I thought I was. Well "I guess this is growing up".
I talked to my mom today for about an hour after I woke up, I don't ever talk to my mom. Very strange. Anywho, she thinks Curtis is gay/bi/or bi curious. Which now, after someone has planted that idea in my brain, its like opening a new door, and I now see those things. So I'm kinda curious if he really is or not. I know that is horrible to say about someone, but now its kinda obvious. Here is a list (and sorry if I am stereotyping gay men) :
1) He really enjoys shopping (like really!)
2) He buys most of his clothes from a) Express for Men b) Banana Republic c) The Gap
3) He is really, really, really like a girl when he shops ex: He has me go find him different sizes while he looks at different clothes, nothing looks good on him, and my favorite "no, you can't go look at clothes cuz I need u to tell me if it looks good, matches, and if you like it" Going shopping w/your boyfriend is suppose to be fun, I HATED IT (& u guys know how much I like shopping), I felt like the man in the relationship who dreds shopping with his girlfriend
4) He was overly excited about Bessingers (candy place at Galaria (sp?)) having chocolate covered blackberries (which they only have in a seasonal thing, which he knew about, & they are like $35 a pound)
5) He told me once he loves candles, and candle light, and he told me that in his old house he had candles everywhere, and he'd rather go by candle light than a light bulb
6) He totally set this dinner up to take my dad out for retirement and my godfather since he got me money for my car accident. It was at a place called Morton's in Clayton, we went there once before and he knows the manager. When we went there before we had a couple of drinks at the bar and the manager brought us 2 apps, which we didn't order (kinda strange) BUT we got the bill and it was like over $50, and the manager told us not to worry about it, it was on the house. Well, Curtis told me before that he did some work from him (i'm assuming on the internet since that is what he does) so I didn't think too much about it, but still even stranger. Also, Curtis told me that we could go there sometime and dinner would also be on the house. OK, so we arranged for the six of us to eat dinner there one night, the manager told us to bring our own wine with dinner so we didn't have to pay their overpriced bill. strange. so we did. We went and ate a ton of expensive fancy food, and we had like a butt ton of waiters and the manager waiting on us, it was freakin crzy, I've been to really nice resturants, some nicer than that, and have NEVER EVER had that happen before. They even brought us doubles of some stuff we ordered. So, we never even got the bill and we were gonna leave a tip, Curtis went and asked the manager how much the bill would have been so we could leave a tip, supposedly the dinner was over $500!! That is really freakin weird and strange at the same time...... So I wonder what he "really" did for this guy ( he seemed kinda like he had the hots for curtis) since curtis wont tell me exactly why we had this nice fancy dinner FOR FREE!
7) When we first went and ate dinner with my parents he ordered a glass of (bear with me, don't know how to spell it) Chardonay, which is a white wine that women normally order.
8) When we went to NC he brought 'wet wipes' because he said when we eat dorritos in the car we will have something to wipe our hands on, he said he thinks of these things cuz he has a daughter (well, i'm not his daughter and he is a man..... a 'normal' guy would probably lick his fingers, wipe it on a pant leg... hell thats what I do... back for the bottom of the pant leg, right Cory?)
9) He loves 80s music.... like really loves...... and he kinda dances kinda gay in the car when he hears an 80s song he really likes
10) he plucks his eyebrows.... i don't think he'd have a unibrow... but that is where he 'plucks'
11) He didn't even try to get me to stay in Carrollton, or change my mind about breaking up with him ( i don't really think that makes him gay, but damn, if u love me as much as u say you do, then after our first fight, u'd try to make up, or make things better not drive me home after u've been drinking from Carrollton @ 1am
12) He'd have me open his cans of beer, isn't it suppose to be the other way around? He said he didn't have fingernails to get under the tab and it hurt his fingers
13) He can dress... man can he dress....
.... more later ....... tell me what you guys think .......

Labor Day Schmabor Day
This weekend I went home. I relaxitated Friday night until I played a little sand volleyball with Dan and hung out with his APO friends in Edwardsville. So much for not driving much and saving gas.
Saturday I went to church with the parents, sat at DQ, came home, rented Pretty in Pink, went across the river for gas to drive home, and that's about it.
Sunday we (mom, dad, me) attempted to hit up the St. Louis Zoo, except it was hot so we gave up after not too long and went to the Landing. We had a beer at Morgan Street then at Trainwreck. It was fun.
Then I took an hour nap, watched Forrest Gump and came back to EIU. All in all I guess it was a good weekend. But I'm back to Verging it out, and kicking it on 12th Street.
I feel bad sometimes when Matt calls and I have other things going on. I really would like to just stop it all just to talk to him for a half hour, but that can't always be done. He's coming down Thursday- great example- he'll get here around 11, I have class from 12:30- 3:15, I MIGHT get to hang out with him for a little bit then sorority stuff probably starts around 5:30 (rush) and lasts till 9:30 or so. Then we can chill out and watch a movie before he leaves Friday to go home for a bachelor party. It's okay though, I'm happy as long as I can see him for that period of time. While I'm at class and ASA, he will be having lunch with the president of the university, Lou Hencken (Matt is a very important person. People know him. He has many leather bound books and his apartment smells of rich mahogany)... and then he'll be hanging out with Stephen Haas- who is back in Charelston this week!! YAY THE STEPHEN!
K me and Erin Miller have homework to be doing. Look Rachelowe, another person is called by their first and last name. But its because the other Aaron is a boy, and it's still 2 words. Rachelowe.

Come and knock on our door....
Check it out, this is what my roommate wrote about me and Erin (the girl roomies) for the Verge tomorrow. It already went to print, but it's not online yet and I'm impatient.

Sometimes I feel like John Ritter. No, no, not dead. I feel like him in the aspect that I am trying to grapple with the fact that I live with two girls. And it is strange, to be sure.
I grew up in a house with three generations of women, my mother, sister and niece. That being said, living with women is not completely unfamiliar to me. However, living with two girls in their early 20’s is like being spun around in circles and made to walk a line: confusing, disorienting and even a bit nauseating.
I would like to think of myself as a fairly enlightened individual, but nothing on this Earth can prepare a young man for the first time he walks into the bathroom to take a nice, innocent shower and finds panties on the floor, hair in the drain and, Lord help me, female hygienic devices waiting for him next to the toilet.
And I can only dread what it will be like once the two of them begin to menstruate in unison. I can see it now—I will walk through the door and a sudden shiver runs up my spine. Then I realize that I left the toilet seat up and prepare for the scolding that will ensue. And might I add, if you fail to do the dishes and you live with two women, they will let you hear about it at great length every time they get the chance.
But it isn’t all bad. It’s merely a learning experience. Being a young man living with young women is just a bit of sexual culture shock. You can’t get away with the same jokes as you can with a male roommate, expelling gas for entertainment purposes loses a bit in translation to women and walking around in your boxers is a bit unnerving at first.
It could always be much worse. I could be in their shoes having to put up with me.

DIANE
DUDE. YOU SHOULD a-go to Fright Fest with us this year whenever that happens. AND b- come visit for homecoming!! don't you miss college? tons of frat/DEN parties to go to!

Those are some great New York boobs
Ok well I feel a little bit better about things today. I know I'm making the best possible decision for myself right now. Mike and I are going to stay together then hopefully once he graduates in December he might be moving up to be with me. We only talked about it a little bit. You guys are probably like omg thats crazy but y'all don't understand. I love him sooo much. I've never felt this way about anyone. I'll put it like this, y'all know how when I get into a relationship I'm like "No kids. No marriage. No nothing," I don't feel that way with him. I can actually see myself having a future with all the stuff in it. We are really good together. I can trust him to go out without me. We actually spend time apart instead of being attached to the hip. If we get into an arguement and get mad at each other we just look at each other and make one another smile. Whatever we were mad about doesn't matter. I don't think there is anyone more perfect for me. Well thats it. I was going to try to come home in a week or two but can't b/c Angie and Chris are going home at the end of sept so I have to watch the dogs. So I'll be returning to A-town the first or second week of October. Just in time for Halloween!

Mama I'm coming home...
Diane, I am so sorry to hear things aren't the best for you right now. Think about it this way. You don't have to be in Alton for the rest of your life. You can go home and save up some cash to get out. You're only 21. And you'll be great in whatever you end up doing.
What I DON'T wanna be is like April and Matt... because it's taking them forever to get used to living in crazy places all types of alone and wishing they were back in college. Come the end of the fall semester, I'm making JR help me get a job opportunity near home. So I can live there and make some money then move away.
The Verge #2 is in progress.
I'm coming home this weekend! I don't know when other than that I will get a chance to. It's going to be a busy year. I think I'll come home once more this semester for Fright Fest, and other than that- for the rest of the year- I'm only coming home for holidays.
I love Eastern and I'll miss it when it's gone. And so I'm making the best of it now.
MUY IMPORTANTE:
My roommate wrote a column about living with chicks- and it's HILARIOUS. ON FRIDAY--- check www.thedailyeasternnews.com (link on the side of this blog page) for

Megan wrote the same column only about living with guys. It is kinda sweet- but Thill's was funny. K gtg!

This is the song that doesn't end
Well last night I had a horrible night. Angie and Chris sat me down and wanted to know my plans and goals. They didn't come right out and say they wanted me to move out but thats basically what I took it as. So I started trying to figured out what I wanted to do the most. #1-Travel around the world, but since I'm not rich as hell and can just do stuff like that #2-Go back to school. I thought about going back to school here but I didn't get my stuff in on time. So I was working at an apt this past few months but still don't have enough money for that. So I figured in my best interest and even though its not exactly what I want to do, b/c I can't stay for Mike/friends (even though I love him dearly and is the best person I have). IT LOOKS LIKE I'LL BE MOVING HOME. I don't know if I really want that since everytime I say it, it makes me ball, but there is nothing else I can do. I can't stay here and afford an apt/car and go to school. At least if I go home I can save up my money and have all those things. It just sucks b/c I'll be losing one of the most important things in my life to get all this. And althought its not worth it. Its in my best interest. Another thing that I'm not too thrilled about...everytime something goes wrong I pack up and move away. I don't want that to happen for the rest of my life. I'm also afraid of staying in Alton for the rest of my life. I mean I love it to death but thats not where I want to be or raise a family if that should ever happen. Well I guess thats it. If I end up moving home and it basically a 95% chance I am it will be in about 2 weeks.

Milk was a bad choice....
STILL sitting in the newsroom. I'm waiting for my roommate's ass to get done night chiefing (sending pages to press) so I don't have to walk home alone.
Sometimes wierd things happen in the newsroom.
Renick was just talking about getting a hair trim. That's not the wierd part, the wierd part is why.
"Obi-Wan Kenobi's hair isn't this long."
(What he's going to be for Halloween.)
Awesome. (:))
SO- coming home this weekend I think. I can't imagine there's a whole lot going on, and I don't know when the next time I'm going to get to go home is going to be.
BUSY BUSY BUSY BUSY BUSY BUSY BUSY BUSY BUSY BUSY BUSY BUSY
Anyway- I need to at least enter these short things every so often but I am a slacker. Tonight I came into the newsroom and wrote probably the gayest 1 scene from the gayest play I'm sure anyone has EVER WRITTEN. AND I made a list of random PR blogs I didn't even glance at.
The Verge is going to be totally busy for BO'Malley next week. I want to make sure that he has everything easy, because otherwise it might suck (FOR HIM). And tomorrow I have shittons of things to do... UGH. I gotta do homework, write a story about food allergies, eat Thomas dining and critique it, make it to class and go to sorority recruitment practice at 5, then come back to the newsroom for some sweet Verge designing.

I f***ing rock my own socks off.
I'm not actually that in love with myself.
Verge is smack dab on the middle of the "Best of Week" board this week. You all should be proud. Also, I'm somewhat kinda dating someone. The reason I say this is we are taking it slow. But he's pretty much the sexiest and nicest person ever. Whatever happens,
WISH ME LUCK!
Kbye.
