Laura~ You have some messed up dreams girl! I'm not really sure what it means, but I'm leaning towards you really want to yell at him somemore so he knows exactly how you feel and somehow that will make you feel better that he knows he was an ass. If that makes any sense.
------
Rachel- Yes~ Finally you can get outta your parent's place. I think everyone should def. live on their own for awhile, gives you a lot of responsibility that is for sure. Oh, and you appreciate your parents a lot more too.

Thomas - I'm using wood. I like the wood. Hehehe. Anyways, they are similar to railway ties, but they are smaller and rounded on the edges... They were a lot cheaper to buy than any kind of stones.
------
Anywho, thanks to Rachel Lowe, we got a lot done in the past two days. And now I have the whole weekend to work on it, so HOPEFULLY it will be done very soon. My mom has also been helping, she's been laying down the stones as Rachel and I build the wall.

Last night Marc bought his plane tickets to come here over fourth of july weekend. Yay! But he doesn't get into St Louis till 11pm on friday cuz he has to work friday and he gets out of work late sometimes, like 7 or 8pm. He sent me is flight info through email, well he just forwarded it to me from expedia, he spent over $300 on his tickets! Damn, I feel special. So I guess that is worth all this work I'm doing in my yard, and the intense cleaning sessions I will have on the inside of my house. I almost think bringing in a pressure sprayer and spraying the whole inside of my house might be easier though. hehe. I found out last night he was Jewish, I've never dated anyone who was Jewish before.... should I be concerned about this?

Well today I told my dad that I was considering going to Law School to up my chances of getting into the DEA. (not to practice law). And he was ok with it, I think even a little excited. But from the brief convo that we had I gathered that I would not be attending SLU, which I planned on since it is so close and I could keep my job. Basically because my brother will also be in Law School (somewhere) and SLU Law he said was $25,000 a year. I was shocked, didn't think it costs that much. So, he mentioned a couple of schools such as SIUC (I might be bunkin w/u cory, hehe), UofI, or Northern U. Pretty much cuz they are the ones in IL, so it'll be hella cheaper. I'm kinda excited about maybe gettin out of this town, and doing it right this time. Actually find a school that I like.

Well I have talked long enough, and now I must get ready for dollar bottles at Applebee's

In Other News
Rachel, where are you going to start looking for an apartment? That's very exciting. Keep us updated on that for sure.

Nothing new is going on today, except I had a really horrible dream last night. I don't remember all of it but it's strangely haunting me. I thought I had pretty much gotten over it but it seems deep down it's still plaguing me.
At the end of the year, when the whole guy situation had wrapped up, he had a gf now and he was in serious denial that I was pissed at him (which frankly I can't blame him for if you read on). Everytime I would see him in the newsroom I would act like nothing at all was wrong, which I can't decide whether or not was for my benefit. You see, he was working closely with me trying to figure out what Verge should contain and what it should look like next year, as part of a class project for him and as part of my job, to revamp the publication. My trouble was that when I was sober, I was afraid of telling him my feelings and making myself vulnerable.
---
When we were hanging out, I would always tell him how I felt, and I can't remember very many nights when I was drunk doing so. I even told him one night that this wasn't just a mess around thing for me like other girls had been. It was lasting much longer and I told him I really liked him. That's why I hold it against him today that he lied to me forever when he should have come clean when he realized it wasn't that way for him anymore. You see, I was the flavor of the...er, several months, when normally they only last a week or so. I just always wanted to tell him that all he had to do was tell me the truth, and I would have been hurt but I wouldn't be at the point where I have all this pent up anger toward him, which climaxed at the end of the year.
---
One night, not for sure which, we were at a bar when we all decided to go visit Brian O'Malley, which you might all hear me call BO'Malley. He lived above Hatter's, and although he didn't drink, he was up all night until the bars closed, so we would stop in for a visit. Then he would feel compelled to take us home sometimes, but not because we asked him to. It was nice and we could have walked but the man has a heart of gold. So he's taking me, Megan, several others, and this guy ("Jason") home. I told "Jason" that I needed to talk to him, and he said ok. I asked BO'Malley to drop us off last. But then Megan, thinking she was looking out for my best interests, told BO'Malley to drop me off first. And when he did, I sat at the picnic table outside Taylor Hall and cried. I called Megan. "Why did you do that? Now IM NEVER GOING TO GFET TO TELL HIM HOW I FEEL!!!" Megan felt bad and came back and took care of me. She put me in bed and as always, Danielle was there on 3 North to help, and Megan left me in Danielle's care until I fell asleep.
---
I was right, I never got my chance to yell at him, and tell him what he needs to hear. That he lied and that makes him a bastard, and how it could have been so much easier with the truth! I was prepared for the truth because I knew how he was, until I listened to lie after lie and suddenly believed it could be more. Stupid Laura. Anyway by the time I see him again, it will be old news, and too late to do anything. I suspect with seeing him a lot and living 5 houses down from him we will become friends, but if this deep down anger doesn't completely go away, there's no telling what I might say when I'm drunk around him.
---
My dream was this: (short and sweet)
He was IN MY HOUSE, having sex with people who were close to me. She was a mixture between Chelsea, a good friend when I was growing up, and Ashley, a good friend now. For some reason he had left a soccer ball in my yard, and when I caught him he ran out to get it so he could leave, but I got to it first and hid it. Before he could leave, I let it fly. And I thought it would make things better. But I kicked the ball into the neighbor's yard and left it. I went back to get it, and Chelsea/Ashley beat me to it. I begged to have the ball so that he would come back because I had some more things to yell at him about.
---
Does it mean that yelling at him would only be a temporary fix? And that I know that deep down? Someone give me some insight here.

Similar Experience
Hey yeah Thomas I had a similar experience with a contract. You see, at the beginning of the year, I was the activities editor at the DEN. I got a measley $120 a MONTH, which I figured out only amounts to about 50 cents an hour. But since I like it, we don't have many specific hours, and everyone is awesome, I don't mind. ANYWAY- When I applied for another position at semester, they had dropped activities all together and added a position called associate campus. It was basically activities only instead of its own beat, campus and associate campus would work more closely. That's how I got so close to April. We were always together, always in there, always doing the same amount of work, and we became good friends. Williams, then ediotr-in-chief, told me I'd receive the same pay. After all, it's the same job. Made sense.
---
AFTER I bounced several checks I went into the office and realized that my direct deposit had only been putting in $74 a month, which is the pay any associate received. Once they put associate on my name apparently, I went down the pay scale. I was infuriated. But she showed my my contract, and I had not read it. It plainly said $74.
---
LUCKILY Matt and then-managing editor Jenni, went to talk to the office and got them to switch it. They explained the whole situation and Eastern direct deposited $200 something into my account shortly after school ended to catch up. Thank god for that. So I hear ya. EVERYONE CAREFULLY READ YOUR CONTRACTS.

No Post Today :(
I'm sorry I didn't post anything today. I had to cover a program where Augustana students were leading high schoolers in teaching elementary kids about art and science. Interviewing kids is like pulling teeth. I wasn't outta there till 5. The way I like it, I don't like sitting around doing nothing all day, as tempting as that sounds and as we all know that used to be all I did.
I have kinda gotten intoa certain routine around here, and I haven't talked to Aaron hardly at all. Which is kinda weird since I have seen him pretty much every day for the past YEAR, especially the past couple of weeks. It's just- I get off work at 5, come home, change clothes, hit the rec at 5:30, and I come home around 6:30/7. Then I get dinner while I watch Everybody Loves Raymond, check my e-mail, watch some more TV and do whatever little errands need to be done. Then I talk to my parents and I'm usually in bed by 10:30 to read the DaVinci Code before I sleep at 11ish. I need to keep myself awake longer though because I keep waking up at 6 refreshed, but then I go back to sleep till *;15 and I'm tired as hell. BUT I LOVE SLEEP!! in the morning.
Whatever happened to being up at 3 a.m. Laura?!!?? I guess it's just a work thing because when I'm at home I'm up till at least 2, and my classes don't start till at least 11 next semester!!
I won't be shouting for joy when I'm in the newsroom at 9:30 anyways working on the Verge. But who am I kidding I love it!!!
Anyways I hope you're all having a great day! (Leave me something fun to read in the morning when I don't have an assignment at work.

I fought the patio, and the patio won.......
Well today has been a long ass day so far! I went to class from 8am till 10:40am. Then I cut grass at rocwood rom 11am till 2:30pm. With a 1/2 hour break to chill and eat I begain working on my patio @ 3pm. It is now 5pm and I just walked in the door. I am beat ass tired! Building a wall is a little harder than what everyone makes it out to be... leveling sux ass just so you know. But when I get done with that part it should be a brease. I know rachel lowe and cory j offered to help. Thanks guys I'll let you know when I work on it again. Pry tomorrow after work around 5:30 or 6pm till whenever I get tired. So if you want to come over just let me know. Also I will pry work on it right after class on Thursday, I know cory j is going to fast eddies, but rachel if that works better for you let me know. I'm basically gonna try to be out there every day till I get the bastard done.
When I cut grass @ rocwood today my smooth ass forgot suntanning lotion. So I'm kinda burnt... in strange patches cuz I wore soccer shorts, tennis shoes w/socks, and a sports bra. I look like a freak, but nothing a couple tans @ the tanning place can't fix.
Thursday~ Yes I will be @ applebees' don't really know what time, pry around 8ish or so. Let me know when you guys will be out there.
Well my skank ass needs a shower real bad.... Talk to you guys l8er

Great Book
Hey check out what I'm reading:
Guide to Getting It On!: Includes Dating, Kissing, Love, Sex, Romance, Marriage, Oral Sex, Fellatio, Cunnillingus, Intercourse, Orgasms, Masturbation, Cybersex, the Prostate,
By Paul Joannides, Daerick, Sr. Gross
I suggest you guys see if any libraries have it, although whether you would want to check it out and have it on your record is beyond me. It's over 500 pages of how-to sex and graphic drawings, and helpful hints and tips. Not like I NEED them, like I'm actually putting them to use, but...
When my friend April (which I wish all of you would have gotten to meet) was Verge editor, they received this book for review. My future roommate (David) and a girl read sections of it and reviewed it for the DEN (Daily Eastern News). So since it is the Verge's possession, and there are two copies, the book came home with me this summer. Hey! It's technically mine for a semester... I'll pass it down at Pica Pole (when we switch positions at the paper) this winter.
Haha. good for a laugh I thought, catch you guys later.

... Rain... sigh....
Once again it is raining in good ole alton. Go fig. I'm never gonna get the stuff done for 4th of July if it keeps raining like this. :(
To Lala and Thomas: DON'T DO IT. I got added somehow now I get text messages from weird people who want to be my 'friend'. I really need to find that website and cancel cuz its a pain in the ass. So whatever you do don't sign up and I'll see what I can do. Apologies! Some girl off my hockey team signed me up for it.
So now, hopefully, everyone has pretty much been invited to 4th of July party on the 3rd. I really hope you can all make it, but not hey thats cool too.
My weekend was pretty laid back, basically cuz I'm really poor with all the 'home improvement' I've been doing, and being sick for so long. But now I am better and picking up some hours at my second job tomorrow.
Well I have monday night hockey, so I need to get some stuff done. Talk to you guys l8er

RACHEL-
Dude most of those people aren't really ON this blog. They USED to be and I haven't heard back whether they plan on ever writing again or if they want to be deleted. I'll send another e-mail soon. It's really just you, me, Thomas, Diane and Emily.
THOMAS-
I signed your wall on Facebook. You'll get an e-mail that tells you that though.
To look for people go to global and type in their full name. There should be a pulldown menu where you can search certain schools. As for Maryville, you can search anyone at your school whether they know you or not, under search. The only bad thing is, people at other schools have to OK you as their friend or you can't see their profiles. You can see mine now and see what's up. Plus you can find lots of people you might want to add on my friends list from other schools. Haha. JBondo is on there. Anyway this Web site can provide you with some entertainment. After a while, searching people isn't much fun anymore because you've found almost everyone you can think of looking for. But editing people's walls and poking people who least suspect it gives me a laugh.
Sorry 'bout Master Dickhead. Looks like you and Dickhead have become good friends. Is he bald yet? Just curious.
I'm off in 15 minutes!! Today was busy! YAY!
I did two stories on Relay for Life. I love Relay for Life :) Sigh.

Back from the weekend...
Hey Thomas sorry I never called you. I got in really late on Friday, then it was shitty Saturday and so my mom took me swimming on Sunday to make up for Saturday. But for sure- you and me golf- some other time.
Yeah Emily I've been getting mail about joining your text group or whatever to get free text messages. I delete them.
I will be home (and I find myself repeating and counting down) July 30, which is, in fact- 7 weeks from now, a total of 48 days, unless I suck immensely at math, which I do. I'd be down with the Broken Lizard party, why not?
Speaking of, did you see Revenge of the Sith? I saw it twice. And when it comes out, I'm going to have the marathon of my life, watching Star Wars episodes 1 through 6, back to back consecutively (as the story line goes, not as they were made.) Call me a nerd, what do I care?
Today, after I get off work, work out a bit and eat, I am going to send you that story I've been promising. It's called "Garden State and Dirty Laundry." I swear I could elaborate, drag it out through the entirety of my talking to this man, and sell it as a book when I get older. And hey, if the mood strikes me I might just improve my work and do that eventually. Names changed again of course, not like he would ever read it anyways.
I'm also going to update my Webshots photo album, which you can find on my facebook. I'll post the link here for non-facebook users when the pics are up, from Journalism banquet and DEN softball, then everyone can see the people I talk about so much. Kbye for now.

I heart Saturdays
Sorry about the font color thingy. I could read it on my computer so I just thought everyone else could to. Sorry you're so bored up in the quad cities Laura, but I'm the same way, when I get bored at work I begin making lists as well, helps pass the time.
Newho, Thomas~ I thought you were on facebook cuz that is where I posted my party at, I haven't sent any emails, at least I don't think I have. Strange but true.... hmmmm....
Its already Saturday and almost 1pm, and I have done NOTHING this weekend, I'm such a bum. Well I did go swimming yesterday, by myself. Kinda lame but it was fun.
If anyone is extremely bored on a weekend during the day I would greatly appreciate some help, I'm tryin to get this freakin patio done but I've been sick w/bronchitis since the beginning of may, so its been kinda hard to do. I'm getting closer though, but I can't finish it by myself, that is for sure. I'm trying to get it done before 4th of July weekend, and trying to get my dog kennel up too. At least I have the pool up and it is amazing this year!
Well I better get going, I have hockey practice in St. Louis @ 2:30.

Things I do to remain sane at work
-think up as many story ideas as I can. Unfortunately, it usually turns out they're Verge ideas and won't do me much good this summer (but when I go back to school they'll come in handy!!
-update my blogs. Yes, I have this one, and I have my xanga. the entries are different, so if you ever feel like catching up with not only what I tell you but also the intricate details of my personal life, hit up www.xanga.com/oohlala (copy and paste it into your web browser.
-e-mail unknown amounts of people. I catch up with many of my friends who have left Eastern and the college life to go onto bigger and better real world reporting jobs and the such. I miss Kevin and April (and more but I've heard back from those two.) I'm going to e-mail you Thomas, but I need access to that story I want to send you and you'll have something to do then.
-check out every news site I can think of to catch up on worldly happenings

.........................and much, MUCH more.
-Facebook. With people at home for the summer, there's not much happening with Facebook, but that doesn't mean its any less handy than it always has been. Thomas, if Maryville has facebook, you should hit it up at www.thefacebook.com and sign your ass up. OK I JUST CHECKED- Maryville does have facebook, and that means you need to GET ON IT. It'll give you something to do. Everyone else is on it as far as I know, since SIUC, EIU, WIU, SIUE and more also have facebook. Just check it out.
-Make lists. What does it look like I'm doing right now? I've also made lists of what to bring home, what I need to bring BACK from home, what there is to do in the Quad Cities, and more.
-I keep a heavily detailed agenda, and I update it more often than necessary. I can't go anywhere without it because it has written in it everything I need to do today, including "go home" and "update blogs." Sad, huh?
-Talk to co-workers. Mostly Aaron, he went to EIU with me. He actually should have graduated but he's holding on for a year to finish things up and to be the Editor-in-Chief in the Spring. I can't wait to go back to school and start everything again. I really hope you guys visit and get to meet these people. I'm actually going to do that now.

Anyways, I only give me and Chuck a couple more days, I'm just not as happy as I use to be with him. Don't really know why....... Well need to get ready, bye!

mmmwwwaaahhhhhaha Blogger is Alive!!!
So I hope this color I picked shows up. Laura~ Blogger looks k/a now! And congrats on your scholarship!! I am def gonna come visit your ass @ Eastern next semester. Thomas~ I guess you would be referring to Chuck?? Newho, we've been together since mid January, but things haven't been goin too great. Somehow though, I don't really mind.... I guess because I have another guy I've been talkin to, but he lives in Boston :( Newho,,,, back to Chuck, he actually broke up w/me on Sunday, but then got back w/me on Monday. I pry shouldn't have agreed to that, but what the hell. As for sunday, I don't remember awhole lot because I went to Fast Eddies w/Steve (yes, steve, we had it planned B4 chuck broke up w/me by the way). So, I proceeded to get extremely smashed, not by choice, Steve's friend kept buying me shots. In the words of Napoleon Dynamite it was "unforgetable".
That day/night (since I was wasted by 5pm) I called a shit ton of people I don't remember on the phone. The last phone call was to Chuck. I don't even remember calling him. He told me I was really nice at first and then just snaped and started yelling at him.
When I realized I had called a shit ton of people I called Chuck to apologize for whatever I had told him. Well to make a long story short he came over to my house and he wanted me to take him back. So I did. What was I thinking? oh well.
Ok, so my new guy in Boston, Marc. Super sweet, hot, has a degree, and has the best job ever! He is V.P. for Vision Sports and Entertainment partners. They do marketing and contracts, mostly for the NHL yeah! You can check it out at http://www.visionsep.com/
Ok the invite thingy is for my Fourth of July Bash and everyone is invited. Sunday July 3 @ 3pm. Swimming, BBQ, washers, stuff like that. I'm getting the keg and supplying the meat for everyone, so i'll need to know for sure who will be there. And its $5 a person, cuz i am poor and the keg will be around $60 plus meat, very expensive.... So you guys should come its gonna be a blast, and Marc is coming into town so you can meet him. :)
Well I better jump off, I'm goin to a drink testing thing tonight @ the Gateway center... YAY free booze!!

We are all getting to be such adults....
So, as far as the paper goes, I guess you could say I'm doing well. But sometimes it is a slow day. I miss the DEN. When I'm there I can be there when I need to be, or be a jackass and play hacky sack as much as I want to and no one will say a word. Here I'm a little afraid I'm not going to make well with the professional community, so even when I'm waiting for phone calls and I know it's okay, I feel bad being on the Internet. Not bad enough that I'm going to stop though.
You can read my stories now at www.qconline.com
Not bad for gathering clips. Monday they have me going to cover a Relay for Life fundraiser in Orion, 30 minutes away. It should be fun. I love fundraisers and I love Relay for Life!!
One thing I will say is weekends I'm off for the most part, and at night I can go home and do my own thing, whereas at the DEN I sometimes never left until 10-ish. Then again that was usually my choice. My record was 2:30 a.m. but I was hanging out with friends (Joaquin and Haas). Another thing, I was an editor there. And there's only so much you can do to stop reporters stories from sucking. Which makes me feel bad for my editor, if I don't come up with the correct caliber story he was looking for. It's really hit or miss with me sometimes. You can still check out some columns and stories of mine at
www.thedailyeasternnews.com
I suggest you go there, go to "About Us" on the side, and click on my name. Look for the column "The day the agreement died." It's a column I wrote about my teacher that killed himself. He was awesome. It was actually my creative writing teacher, and the essay mentioned is the one about the guy I'm going to send you, Thomas. I got a $500 scholarship for next year and when the photo adviser presented my award, he told the whole banquet that column made him cry. Wow, huh? Then after the banquet we all proceeded to get drunk. Advisers and all.
I got a house for next year! So no matter how busy your ass may be I can almost promise I'll be busier, and that you need to come and visit me at Eastern. Time is running out! It's so cute, it's white and small and I'm sharing it with 2 other newsies. One girl, who is really not a lot like me, and one guy, who is really not a lot like anyone. They're nice though, it should be interesting and fun.

Depressing story
Today I am finishing up a story I worked on all day yesterday on how teenagers mourn a tragic loss. I remember how people were when Tony Haun died, so that gave me a little insight, although I can't use personal opinion.
The story is about a 17 year old who was hit by a drunken driver on his 17th birthday two months ago. Some people visited his grave on the 2 mo. anniversary yesterday and I went out there, and then talked to his mom for about an hour. It pretty much put me in a depressed state of mind the rest of the day.
It's 11 o'clock and I'm waiting to hear back from one of the deceased's friends.
On a lighter note, I'm pretty much bored out of my mind here, so I've taken it upon myself to work out. You know me, I don't do much, but I work on a cardio bike for about 40 minutes and do a walking lap or so. Then I ride out. I figure I might even become more fit! Especially because I have been making it a habit to hit McDonald's up for their- GET THIS- fruit and walnut salads, and or the side salad or the fruit and walnut parfait from the $1 menu!! They're actually pretty good. I don't have much time to eat much here anyway, and I'm not usually very hungry anymore.
I hit the public pool the other day and got nothing but disappointment, when I learned it was more of a family place, PACKED with kids. Then I slipped in too close to the side and got a fatty arbuckle bruise on my left thigh. Kinda reminds me of the football shaped on I had in high school, Diane.
Thomas, I will write you about this guy. I will have to send you the essay I wrote for my creative writing class on him. The name was changed but I changed it back for my personal record (It was Jason because I had to read it in class, but the real name is Dan). In case I left some unchanged, it's the same person.
I will also fill you in on the rest, because the essay leaves some things out. But it will get you about 5 pages of something to read, and I am quite personally proud of it, so you might find it enjoyable even.
What's new with you anyway? and where are you working in a cubicle all day?? How's Beth and all that business?
I'm gonna slip away now, TTYL.

Me again
Hey everybody. I'm glad to see some of us are back! Awesome. I'm glad everything's going well for everybody.
Ths summer is not much of a summer. I'm too far away from home to come home and have fun with any friends. I mean- I'm coming home this weekend for my dad's birthday but I won't have time to do much except for family stuff.
I'm sorry to hear you're not coming back Diane, but I'm glad to see you're doing well. Everyone but Thomas knows about my repeat bad habit that ended in April that was complete bullshit. It's sad that when everybody talks about relationships I talk about that- it wasn't even one, it was just some douchebag I liked who lead me on and got rid of me once I was no longer his flavor of the week (which I apparently was for several months). I need to find a guy more like me and less like the sports desk.
Speaking of... I have pictures on my webshots you should look at if you haven't already seen. I'm gonna go through and edit some of them out. There are plenty of photos that aren't online because I didn't bring my scanner. I think I might look into bringing it next week so I can put some of those photos on here.

K I'm gonna go edit. Bye-ee

Sure did forget
Hey y'all. I sure did forget about this but I have lots of updates so here it goes...
*I have a bf who is amazing and we get along great. His name is Mike. Angie and his brother work together and they hooked us up. Its kind of funny we actually talked online like a month or so before they set us up....maybe it was meant to be....
*I'm staying in Texas to see how things work out with Mike. Y'all know that I just don't stay in one place for a guy unless I'm serious about him. (I sure did up and leave Jake and WIU.) I can't just up and leave a good thing, ya know?
*I'm going to go back to school this fall for physical therapy. I'm only going to start out part time and especially now that my mom is making me pay for it. Then if i like PT I'll get into Athletic Training and stuff like that maybe, but you know how my mind chances.
*I'm still working at Aeropostale and massaging at the spa.
*Tomorrow Angie is making me drive the jeep. I've only driven it a couple of time and she told me shes taking the Honda tomorrow so wish me luck b/c I'm sure I'll kill it and get all flustered in traffic.
*Heres a link to my pics. I don't have a scanner so I can only put up the ones I take with my digital (I don't take that one out with me) or pics someone else puts up. http://photobucket.com/albums/y144/dideestar/

Tired of being sick
My summer has been amazing thus far. Lots of downs, but thats ok. I've had bronchitis since the beginning of May, but I'm on some pretty sweet drugs now, so I should be good to go in the next week or so. I've been working and taking a summer course, psychopathology. The worst class ever! But I will survive, and to do so I must go study now for a test that I have tomorrow.

Rock Island didn't know what hit them...
Hey you all from the Quad Cities.
You know, it's amazing how much this place looks like home. It's the convergence of two rivers, the Mississippi and Rock rivers, it has a casino downtown, and it's hilly as a bitch too. Only problem- it's over 4 hours away, and I know hardly no one.
I'm doing an internship at the Argus newspaper. It's actually a newsgroup- The Argus, The Leader and The Dispatch are the same pretty much. Rather, we write for all of them. It pays like $150 a week, but then Eastern matches that and I get $300 a week, plus clips and experience.
Short post I know, just trying to get 'er started again, I'm sensing a pattern that isn't a good one, with the starting and the stopping...
Ok bye!

ICPA
Illinois College Press Association this weekend. (and you'll notice a lot of the longer posts by me will be pretty much copied and pasted from my xanga, with a few details changed of course...... different audience)
Hillary (city), Williams (EIC), Jen (admin.) and me left good ole' Chucktown for a 3.5 hour drive to the big city to learn about journalism, to get drunk and to attend a job fair, not in that order. Once we got into town, we got a bit lost but found our way and went to our room.
There was a foreign person already in it. It was strange because I was just telling Hillary how that happened to me and my parents the time we came to visit EIU for the first time to get my first schedule. So we waited to get a new room, got settled in and headed to get something to eat, at Pizzeria Due. Big ass deep dish....... ahhhh drooling......it was so flippin tasty.
When we got back it was like 10:30-ish, so we went to Haas'(photo) room. Me, Hillary, Williams, Jen, April (campus), and Thill (staff writer) were chillin with some booze. Thill was cracking everybody up bc he'd never been in a huge city b4. Jen was wasted off one wine cooler thing, and when Thill lit up a cigarette she threw up a little, and we had to send her ass to bed. Aaron (news) came back from hanging out with some chicas and we listened to Thill quote Anchorman in its entirety and then we went downstairs to let them go to bed.
Holly (verge- entertainment) and Renick (ass. sports) showed up and convinced us to go downstairs and go to the hotel bar. I had a Fosters- Australian for beer.
Friday morning, me, Hillary, Jen and Holly got up butt ass early to get our schedules. All the guys looked so cute in their ties. And Williams in his suit. And Woike (sports), wearing what he usually does only with a tie. I had interviews at 10:30, 11 and noon-fifteen with the papers in Champaign, Aurora and Rock Island, and I swooped in on Springfield. When we were done interviewing, I went out to eat with a buttload of DEN people and Woike's sister Sarah (who is frighteningly exactly like Dan(Woike)) at ESPN Zone. I had a massive cheeseburger and- it ruled.
We walked back to the hotel to sneak in on the keynote speaker, which was way important to Williams, stayed after to eat some flippin cookies and drink the cutest bottles of Coke ever. Then it was shower and dinner time.
Got out of the shower and whaddya know- there are 4 boys in my room, smoking pot no less, and I didn't have any clothes in there with me. We had reservations at a restaurant called Rock Bottom. Joe (DEN adviser) ate with us. It was fun, they had their own brews there! I had one called Chicago Gold. It was real good and it hit me real fast.
After that we took cabs to Tequila Roadhouse for a free party with Joaquin's (ass. verge) gf Maria. Free drinks from 9-10. Schroeder (opinions) was dancing up on everyone singing "Schroeder's dancin on you, he's dancin on you..." Woike and Marcus (sports writer) couldn't get in, because the bouncers said the bar was full. Really they just wanted to make them wait till 10 and charge them cover. We think it was a conspiracy. Everyone else was there though, it was awesome. My camera died so I didn't get that many pics. (check my webshots page if you wanna see them.) For the most part, it was too dark and they were all off centered.
Back to the hotel. I recited the ladies man poem in the cab, which everyone thought was hilarious. I was gonna tell Gisondi but I didn't because he was with Tidwell (dept. chair- journalism) and I got intimidated. To the room for liquor we already had purchased, and then to the hotel bar. Met up with Haas again, we tied 1-1 in pool while April hit on some ISU guys. Schroeder, meanwhile, got kicked out of the bar for bringing in Keystones. As if someone wouldn't notice a guy with 4 stones in his pants.
To Aaron's room we went, 7th floor. Colin (old photo, now alumni) came to visit!!!! Which was cool until he tied my shoes together and sprayed me with Woike's cologne, in the face. I tried hopping out the door and was unsuccessful until Hillary came in and took my shoes off. I was barefoot the rest of the night. We spilled water everywhere, broke a glass, made a ruckus and then we left, to let Aaron sleep.
Went to Haas' room on the 19th floor to use the potty (which was even farther away from where I was than my room.) Bugged him an Williams for awhile. Apparently I was flippin hilarious. Williams was trying to sleep, so after I called Aaron's room a million times, and called my own room- laughing whenever Colin asked me where I was or who I was with or if I wanted to talk to April, I hung up and went to my room. My shoes- hanging on the sprinkler system. Everyone was kicked out by Hillary and April and I decided to go eat my leftover piece of pizza- in the hallway on the 7th floor, outside 3 of our rooms.
Schroeder and Meinheit (old EIC) came to visit us and partake in the one piece of pizza April was freaking out about, since it was pepperoni and she's a vegetarian. We talked forever, and my flippin eyelids were swelling shut, so I decided to sleep in April's room instead of going up to mine.
Next day, we wake up for Haas' photography thing, missed Williams' roundtable. I did the walk of shame from April's room. I felt like I'd just had a one night stand, and I'm pretty sure the maids were talking about me in Spanish. Bitches. Plus I still smelled like guy from Woike's cologne. I was too embarrassed by them to take the elevator, for fear more people would think that about me, so I hiked it up to 1609 in the stairwell.
Went to the "shoot Chicago" thing, which is horribly named if you ask me, and tried to guess which pic was Haas'. It's running in the Chicago RedEye (the Trib) tomorrow. I was right!!! I felt special that I knew.
Then we went to the awards ceremony, and ate a great meal, of pasta, salad and a breadstick. The DEN won like a buttload of awards. 24 I think? People like Schroeder, Aaron, Williams, Kevin, Joaquin, Thill, Holly, and Haas (who won 12 for himself) got stuff for editorial cartoons, sports design, pics, news and online. I was so very proud. We didn't win in the overall category, but I think we should have. The Daily Northwestern took it home. The award was renamed for our very own John David Reed, from EIU.
Back home we went. Only I almost got my car hit, then we got lost, then we took 55 and got about 45 minutes out of our way.
Josh's (ass. photo) friend's party was that night. We got staff stud (staff writer) to come and we had a blast, only I had too much, cried cuz I thought I was going to throw up and Caleb and Danielle had to save me. And that's all I'll say about that.

Diane's return...mwhahaha
Hey y'all! Ok lets see...I graduated from massage therapy school. Yay! Now I'm waiting on my temp license so I can get a job and start making money.
No guy. I was dating someone for like half a sec, but I know what kind of guy I want and I don't really feel like wasting time or memories on someone I don't really like and is not worth it. Plus I don't really want to be in a relationship anyway. It bores me.
Texas kind of sucks. Everything is real slow here. (Fashion, music, trends, drivers!!!) Plus I figured out I'm not into the country scene at all so it really sucks. I want to hurry up and make money then go somewhere else. I love going out with Lauren and Stacey b/c I've never had girlfriends that like to party, get drunk and dance and stuff but we go to lame country bars with cowboys. I still have a good time but I don't like it. Plus Lauren causes a lot of unecessary drama b/c she has been given whatever she wants all her life. Its cool to be friends with rich people b/c i'm not so I reep some benefits but the emotional stuff is annoying.
The other night Chris E. met us up at the bar but it kind of sucked b/c I felt like I had to entertain him. He was kind of weird and I felt like I couldn't mingle with other people b/c I didn't want to leave him out, ya know?
Anyway, I think thats all thats going on.

I have sweet hacking skills
Today, in the newsroom, I played hackey sack for like a billion hours. I got Holly to play with me, then I played alone, then Haas played with me, then myself, then Renick, then myself, well- u get the point.
I am getting really good again. So boo yah.
I'm sitting in this chair a really wierd way and my flippin arms are getting tired.
That was really random, man.
So, going to ICPA this weekend. Chicago. Woot.
"Who unionized?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?? Probably your momma."
Yeah, Aqua Teen, No. 1 in the hood, g.
"I know it's been awhile. But I'm not gonna, get humped, by a giant, red ape in space. Ok? No thank you."
I am editing a story and spouting off nonsense. Sorry if I sounds schizo. Obviously if I can admit I might sound schizo, I'm not.
The government is out to get me.
Apparently, there was an African-America forum today from which my staff writer was ejected for being a lady. When she went to the female version of the forum, she discovered why.
They were talking butt sex and private things they didn't want a chic to hear.
OH I gotta drive April's car tomorrow to ICPA. I'm scurred. I don't know if I trust myself driving someone else's car to someplace I don't know. She's awesome.
I guess I'd better look up directions. HOLD PLEES.

Busy Busy Weekend
Hey kids, I'm going to Chicago this weekend!! For a conference with the Illinois College Press Association. I have guaranteed interviews but I seriously doubt anything will happen. It doesn't matter because no one from my home area is even going to be there and I can't afford to be away from home until after college.
The weekend after that I think is ASA Mom's weekend, so my parents are coming up. My dad is going to entertain himself at WalMart or something while me and my mom are eating good food and fraternizing with the sorority.
Oh yeah flippin hell I have chapter tonight and tons of shit to do. That wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have shit ton of crap to do tonight. Argh.

Sitting in the DEN
Hey everyone how's it going?
I am sitting in the newsroom currently, taking in the verbal assault from some co-workers. Haha. Waiting to go to class. Thought I'd see what everyone was up to.
None of my business really but here's what's been going on with everyone who won't post themselves just yet hehe:
I heard Thomas is working at the Hayner Branch Library in the mall.
Haven't hung out with him or Beth in forever. I called them when I was home but they were playing a board game and couldn't break away, or didn't want to who knows?
Haven't talked to Marissa in forever, if you read this, how goes the dental hygenist gig?
Diane's liking Texas. She gots some sort of guy down there but you'd have to ask her how thats going..... How is it D?
Cory likes Carbondale, but is coming home for a break this weekend I hear if anyone wants to see him.
Emily hurt herself at her hockey game and had to miss Mardi Gras for the second year in a row, but she's good with her man too :) YAY emily!
Hmmm, I can't think of anything else, so I'm going to go have a meeting with my teacher, then get cracking on a news story about Facebook.com.

Take it with a grain of salt.........
I just want to know why everyone is getting so pissed off? The blog is a place to post your opinions, ideas, thoughts, messages, etc. That is all I did, I'm not arguing w/anyone, that is the way I felt at that moment in time. Also, I haven't had my computer in a couple of weeks so I didn't have a chance to post b4 the election or whenever U thought that I SHOULD post a comment like that. So if you don't agree w/the way that I feel then don't read it. I'm not tryin to start shit with anyone and I thought everyone should know that. Also, how am I being closed minded? I just posted a fact, thats all I did, if facts are closed minded then I guess I am.
What a great weekend!!
Damn, I really love October and all but November is kicking some ass for me! So far I've worked the election which equals $100 extra on my next pay check. I'm kickin major ass in all of my classes! Damn this month rules... Newho, my weekend has been fantastic Friday I got paid at work..yay! Then around 7pm I drove up to ISU to see u know who (Adam). Damn that was a great night! Basically we actually got to talk, in person, about what has been goin on between us, and I am thrilled about the results. We decided that we don't want to be bogged down w/a long distance realtionship, or any serious relationship for that matter. So we are gonna continue on how things are, but not start any type of relationship that is similar to what we have. Then when he graduates ( cuz i think he will graduate 1st) we will see where we both stand and start something from there. Basically we know if we don't find anything close then we will have each other when we graduate. yay! That makes me excited, cuz I can stop worrying about what is goin on between us, still have alilfun if I want, and know he will be there in 2 years when we can actually start something.
Then on Saturday I got home around 5pm, did some laundry and went out w/ Becky, Amy, and Rissa, we went and ate at Romas in Bethalto. That place was sooooo yummy! mmmmm. Then we went and kicked it at Wal-Mart where we talked to Reg a bit. Then went back to Rissa's watched some TV then came to my place (just amy and rissa) and a couple of drinks and watched Hot Chick. Damn I love that movie. Sam B stopped by for a bit to say hi, which was really cool cuz I haven't seen that chick in a long time. Then that was it for the night.
So far today I went to my hockey practice in St. Louie. We had this really hot guy coach us on effective power skating and techniques, which was really cool.. cuz he was hot and a really good player. And he coaches hockey clinics,,,,, i might have to sign up for a couple of those,,,hehehe,, rrraawwwrrrrr...
The best part about this weekend is I haven't talked to Steve since Thursday, and I feel really damn good about that! Cuz no arguements, no explainning where i've been, or who with, no bullshit, no begging, damn it feels good.

Good News, and Bad News
Yay! the good news is I FINALLY got my computer back!! yay! And it works and isn't slower than shit.... the bad news (good news to some) Bush will be around another 4 years. I'm tired of the bullshit and retardedness of the American people. Yes, I am upset, but right now the only thing I can say is ::::

How on earth can everyone be so blind.... and what is even sader.. 80% of people who voted for Bush are affiliated with a church... I didn't know killing 100,000 innocent women and children was in the bible, but hell I could be wrong......

Bleeding mouths
Since you had a big problem with it, you should have addressed it to me and not posted it on here for me to read later. My comments were not directed just totally to you. Chad doesn't even know you so why would he say anything about you. Western friends are directed to other Western people. That quote was about my old roommate, Lauda.
Forgive me for not getting the dictonary and looking up the correct defintion for "close-minded." Liberatarians are just as close minded as conservatives are. Liberals take away freedoms so they don't hurt someone that doesn't believe in the same thing others do. For example the PLEDGE OF ALLIAGENCE. So it works both ways.
Not everyone was bitching about Bush otherwise he wouldn't have been re-elected. Its not that easy to get into a war and let someone else take over. America does not want someone who is so liberal. At least, not that I see. I have never been a republican. I used to get mad at Danny Lester and bitch him out b/c he was a republican. I was totally democratic, but now it makes sense that I don't want to be so free. I want some structure in the way the country will be run. I don't want someone to tell me that I can't say the pledge of alliagence b/c I might offend someone. I don't want a liberal telling someone who is religious, "Since Diane isn't religious and doesn't believe in God so you can't say that."
When I heard that it was offical that BUSH was the president, I wasn't going to say or do anything. Then I saw all the bs people were writing and saying. I was in complete disgust. I was so angry that people were still misinformed about so many issues. Don't say that just b/c Cory and my votes lost in Madison you weren't talking about us. You were talking about everyone who voted for Bush. It kills me that people can sit there and say "I hate the president." HATE is such a strong word and the way I feel about it, if you HATE the president and don't believe in anything he's doing then move some where else. Just don't sit around and bitch about it for the next four years. As Dave says, "Make the best of whats around." I am angry b/c people can't do that. People cannot make something they think is so horrible and make it into a good thing or find at least one thing they do like. I am so tired of being mad, sad, or angry. I want to live and I am happy each day I get to do so. Its not worth it to get upset over this stuff anymore of hating something so deeply that it depresses me. I want to make the best out of every situation. I hate it that someone so close to me(you) can't do the same and we disagree so bad over one thing it causes us to fight.
Just think about this, we get into a war where the commander in chief is fighting for something to help and protect us, then we the american people elect someone else who wants to stop fighting for us. Besides America looking stupid to countries all over the world already, that makes us look more ignorant than what they already think! That says we do not believe in what we fight for, we will fold b/c we don't want people to lose lives. Someone I know said they are ashamed to live in America b/c Bush is our president and now we live in fear of terror. Wow, reality hit us!!! Someone is telling us to be scared. He is telling us, hey we need to be careful and fear for the worst but hope for the best. We live our lives thinking America is the greatest, strongest, and nothing can ever hurt us. Then, BAM!! A reality check. Bush is not sugar coating anything, but he is not trying to scare us so we are always fearful for our lives. Bush wants them to know that we will fight when they pose a threat and the especially act on it. We will not back down under any circumstance. I think if Kerry was elected that would have showed the world how weak we are, that we can't fight b/c we are in fear. Then who knows how many more attacks would happen.
I am sorry but I am not sorry for saying those things to someone that says "Bush will never be my president."

I, quite frankly, am hurt.
"It's nice to sleep knowing my country is protected by bad ass G.W. BUSH....
Why don't you Kerry supporters whine about it some more? Suck it up and SUPPORT your country you f**ks! Liberal people are the most CLOSE MINDED people I know.
Chadillac0206: people like her shouldn't be able to vote, she believes anything Michael Moore says"
Diane, I stole these from your profile and I know they were probably directed toward me.
And quite frankly, they hurt.
They wouldn't so much if you hadn't IMed me something similar earlier in the day... cuz then maybe you'd not just be talking about me, which I assume you are since Cory likes Bush and so do your Texas friends.
....and I should hope that Chadillac's quote was not concerning me, because that is the farthest from the truth.
I am upset, okay? and I have a god-given and constitutional right to say that I hate the president. You dont, good for you. I do.
I am upset and unhappy with America as a whole, because for the past four years people have bitched and polls have shown that Bush's approval rating had dropped quite a lot. That means America thought he was doing a shabby job. Solution? Vote in someone new.
But did they do that? F**k no. Hey if you liked him that's one thing. If you stood by everything he did and u thought he was a good president, then good for you. But where were those unhappy people? Probably at the polls voting for Bush. And that, my friend, is pure stupidity.
Also- closed minded- lacking tolerance or flexibility or breadth of view; "narrow opinions"
Liberals do NOT have narrow opinions. That is the trait of the conservatives by nature. Conservatives- do nothing and hope it will get better, cuz no way is better than this.
Liberals- hey if that doesn't work we'll try this, and hey if this doesn't work we'll try that.
Every political party is somewhat closed-minded anyways. It's their way or no way.
First and foremost, I feel sorry for John Kerry as a person, with whom for some reason I connected with emotionally. I felt that he stood for everything I believed, and it was as if my own friend and personal hero lost the race. You would be sad too if it ended up the other way.
I'm gonna use my right to hate GW. I'm not patriotic, and I don't have to be. Thats a difference between you and me.
I just want you to know, that my away messages, as Cory brought up, are in no way about you, or Cory. Because, if you didn't know, since u voted absentee in Madison county--- Bush lost badly in Madison county, and IL in general so it doesnt matter. And you guys have stood by the pres the whole time, you didnt talk about how shitty he was and then vote him in anyways.
Its the rest of America that can kiss my ass, and if bad shit happens, I don't wanna hear any bitching. Republicans for raising their kids to vote republican even if they know nothing about the candidates (yes Democrats do this too), people who voted for GW and couldn't have even told you who was running against him (yes I know some people here that did that), people who didnt look at the issues, the Democrats for registering to vote and not getting out there on election day, and more.
I'm bitter, and unhappy, and that's ok because I need some time to myself about this. And now I'm getting in the shower.

Alpha Sigs Salute the Pikes
Tonight we were supposed to have a sisterhood where we bake cookies and serenade the fraternities.
HOWEVER- that cannot happen after the oven caught on fire last night and the Pikes had to rescue our chapter room. Apparently, the fumes from the fire extinguisher are toxic, so we couldn't stay in the chapter room until the carpet has been cleaned.
BUT we did get to serenade the Pikes, and we gave them store-bought cookies. The song went a little bit like this:
"Boom-dee-yada, Boom-dee-yada, Boom-dee-yada, Boom-dee-yada......(in the background)
Pi Kappa Alpha, you're the best fraternity
You put out fires for our sorority-
And as the years go by,
Thankful we will be-
Boom-dee-yada, Boom-dee-yada, Boom-dee-yada, Boom-dee-yada."
It was so much fun!!! Can't wait till we do it again.... I'm in a singing mood.....

Now for a fun post.

Bush vs. Kerry=Diane vs. Laura
Ok, well, Laura and I both agreed we got a little out of hand and crossed each other's personal lines in the past 2 post. We got in a little fight for a second but staightened it all out. The point, we both have sent in our absentee ballots. So while we can still discuss the issue there is no point in getting mad and trying to change each other minds b/c we have already voted.

Don't Act Like I'm a Dummy
Firstly of all, DIANE, don't act like I'm a dummy. Maybe I should have cited my source(s), but I was at SIUE waiting for James' class to get out so I didn't have time.
If you MUST know, I am looking for the sites I used, and one of them was http://www.issues2000.org/Candidates.htm. One of the same that u used. What a small world, that we both read the same thing and got different info out of it?
LET ME SEE......
*I didn't even say anything about the DRAFT. I know that both candidates swear if they're the next president there won't be one. To tell you the truth, I don't care if a lot of Democrats more than republicans want the draft, because I'm not for every democrat. Each party has its own set of assholes and those which are not assholes... in my opinion, Bush happens to be an asshole- not my president.
The reason that some Democrats support the draft is because it would produce a militia that is closer to representing the actual country. I don't think that it's fair that a lot of poor people enlist just because they are promised money and a college education that they could not get otherwise. On the other hand, a lot of rich people don't have to do squat because they know that when they can choose, that they don't need any of those things- so unless they have a death wish, or they are extremely patriotic (which is the minority of course) then why fight for America. I don't call that patriotism.
FLAG BURNING
I'll just use your info: Kerry and Edwards do not support the amendmentQuote from Kerry "I would not be pleased to see someone burning the flag because I love the flag, but the Constitution that I fought for preserves the right of free expression." (http://www.issues2000.org/Domestic/John_Kerry_Civil_Rights.htm)
-----If I were to burn the flag, I wouldn't necessarily be saying that I hate the country, and I'm not really hurting anyone. I could be saying a number of things. I don't like the government. George Bush for example. If he was a bit more like his dad I think I could handle it. Kerry and Edwards are in the right. However, if people are buring the flag and threatening to kill Americans and overthrow the government, then its no longer free expression, and it would be illegal.
WMDs
I cannot tell u where I found this but I can assure u that I did not pull it out of my ass, and as a journalist (even tho I am being unjournalistic voicing my opinion now as I am) I would never pull my info on some dumbass liberal's web site. If anything, that would falsify my argument more than make me look good, and I'm not a dummy.
Whether Iraq has them or not, we should be more worried about North Korea. (and I know Bush wants multiple party negotiations to get rid of their WMDs, I did do a pro-Bush speech recently, and hated every minute of it)
Kerry knows the threat is there too.
The thing that I am against. Is it REALLY all that necessary for us to have freaking terror warnings on the news? I mean, if it's a yellow or orange day, maybe I should call my professors and call off of my classes. The fact of the matter is, unless there is a specific reason to believe that we are going to get attacked by an act of terrorism, the government and the media shouldnt scare people. It's just a way to shut them up so we all follow along with Bush's little plan.
CONSERVATIVE IDEAL
-do nothing and things will straighten themselves out????

Follow up to Laura's "why kerry is for me"
Please read all of this and totally understand and process this into your brain!! Please read even my opinions also.
***BEFORE WE START ANYMORE BUSH VS. KERRY…IF YOU ARE GOING TO SAY ANYTHING MORE YOU BETTER HAVE SOME FACTS AND AN ACCURATE SOURCE FROM WHICH YOU ARE USING. I WANT WEBSITES WHERE YOU GOT THIS INFO. (Not websites that some random "joe shmoe" just made up either) I DON’T WANT WHAT YOU’VE "HEARD." FIND THE INFO FIRST! BACK IT UP THEN GIVE YOUR OPINION IF YOU WOULD LIKE LAST.***
**Reinstatement of Military Draft
*Issue: People accuse Bush of wanting to reinstate draft
*Truth: In actuality, Democrats have introduced all recent draft legislation, and no Republicans have supported it.
On October 5, 2004 a draft bill (HR 163), introduced by (D-NY) Rep. Charles B. Rangel was defeated 402-2, with Democratic Representatives John P. Murtha (Pennsylvania) and Pete Stark (California Democrat) supporting the measure.
A similar bill introduced in the Senate by Sen. Fritz Hollings (D-SC) in January 2003 is still in committee (Armed Forces Committee). However, Sen. Hollings states on his website (http://www.senate.gov/~hollings/index.html) that under current circumstances, even he would not support this bill.
DIANE’S POINT-That’s funny everyone is blaming Bush but it’s the DEMOCRATS THAT WANT TO REINSTATE THE DRAFT. HMM….
**Flag Burning
*Issue: Some believe Bush wants to restrict free speech by prohibiting the desecration of the US flag
*Truth: An amendment to The Constitution that would make it illegal to descreate the US flag has wide support from BOTH Democrats and Republicans
When a potential amendment was last considered in 2000, the amendment got 63 votes (Dems and Reps), four short of the 67 needed when all 100 senators are present. Based on statements and previous votes, both sides count 64 senators in support of the amendment this year. (Source: Kerry, Edwards and Daschle May Face Vote on Flag By Helen Dewar Monday, September 13, 2004; Page A19 )
Kerry and Edwards do not support the amendment
Quote from Kerry "I would not be pleased to see someone burning the flag because I love the flag, but the Constitution that I fought for preserves the right of free expression." (http://www.issues2000.org/Domestic/John_Kerry_Civil_Rights.htm)
DIANE’S POINT-Ok, I don’t get this at all. I don’t care how liberal a person is. Flag buring should be AGAINST the law. Didn’t it make you mad when you saw people burning the flag after 9-11?!?! If it didn’t there is something wrong with your pride for you country.
**Weapons of Mass Destruction
*Issue: Hussein destroyed all his WMD after the Gulf War
*Truth: Prior to the 2002 invasion of Iraq, Hans Blix stated there were significant numbers of WMD that Iraq HAD NOT been accounted for. Since the invasion, signs of WMD production have been found in Iraq, and remnants of WMD production have been found illegally scrapped in countries bordering Iraq.
In his address to the Security Council, Blix warned that a finding "of great significance" was that many proscribed weapons were "not accounted for." "One must not jump to the conclusion that they exist," he said. "However, that possibility is also not excluded. If they exist, they should be presented for destruction. If they do not exist, credible evidence to that effect should be presented." Blix also said Iraq must explain what happened to suspected stocks of anthrax, VX gas and long-range missiles. "The issues of anthrax, the nerve agent VX and long-range missiles [are] ... perhaps the most important problem we are facing. Iraq itself must squarely tackle this task and avoid belittling the questions," he said. (http://abcnews.go.com/sections/world/US/iraq030214.html)
*Biological Weapons
In mid-1995, Iraq admitted that it had weaponized BW agents, but claimed that the entire BW program had been in "obliterated" in 1991 and that all BW weapons had been destroyed and all bulk BW agents had been deactivated. The Commission found, however, that the evidence produced in support of this claim was not credible, and that Iraq "retained suitable growth media, BW facilities, production equipment, teams of expert personnel, and the essential technical knowledge" after 1991.
Iraq claimed that it unilaterally destroyed more than 7500 liters of the Botulinum toxin and 3412 liters of Bacillus anthracis spores in 1991; UNSCOM noted that there was not evidence to support quantities claimed to be destroyed. The report concludes "the Commission has no confidence that all bulk agents have been destroyed.
UNSCOM did find evidence of the destruction of some BW bombs at the site declared by Iraq, but found that the remnants account for less than one third of the bombs Iraq claims to have destroyed. In addition, UNSCOM found evidence of R-400A bombs carrying BW at an airfield where no BW weapons were declared.
Aerosol generates for BW Interview evidence suggests that there were 12 devices produced; none were destroyed by UNSCOM.
UNSCOM determined that there remained substantial bacterial growth media imported into Iraq which remains unaccounted for: 460 kg. of casien; 80 kg. of thioglocollate broth; 520 kg. of yeast extract; and 1100 kg of peptone. The report says that "the amounts that are 'missing' are significant, and would be sufficient to produce quantities of agent comparable to that already declared by Iraq."
*Chemical Weapons
After the Gulf War, Iraq claimed that it had 412.5 tons of CW agents remaining. Four hundred eleven tons were destroyed under UNSCOM supervision; 1.5 tons of the CW agent VX remain unaccounted for.
*Special Munitions
Special Munitions Iraq claimed that between 1982 and 1988, 100,000 munitions filled with CW agents were consumed or disposed of. UNSCOM found that this number could not be verified. Iraq claimed that there were 42,000 special munitions destroyed in the Gulf War. UNSCOM was unable to verify that number, and found that the destruction of 2,000 unfilled munitions remains uncertain, and 550 filled munitions remain unaccounted for.
Iraq claimed that it unilaterally destroyed 29,000 special munitions; UNSCOM found that of these, 100 filled munitions remain unaccounted for.
DIANE’S POINT- I don't know where you found something saying "Bush WAS planning a war." Bush probably had some plans if something happen. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want a president that doesn’t have at least plan about war against countries with WMD!!! Any country with WMD’s pose a threat to every country! Especially when that country HATES everything that America does!! Having a plan doesn’t mean that you are going to start a war! It’s just safer for the people of that country incase you ever have to go to war! The president needs to keep a close eye on a country with WMD’s. So no Bush isn’t psychic, but he is PREPARED.
**GAY’S IN BOY SCOUTS
DIANE’S POINT- BUSH ISN’T THE PERSON KEEPING GAYS OUT OF BOY SCOUTS!!!! The boy scouts is a private organization. They control that! That’s like a man wanting to join Curves. He can’t b/c its just for woman. They are a private organization. SORRY, BUT ANOTHER REASON "NOT TO VOTE FOR BUSH" THAT JUST WENT DOWN THE TOILET!
**TAXES
First of all, Wal-Mart gives all their employees, part time and full time, FULL BENEFITS!! I think thats pretty good! "Hey you are making minimum wage, but we are going to provide you with whatever you want b/c you are working here trying to make a living!!!!"
*Welfare!!! Let’s go take a drive through one of the SEVEN projects Alton has. How many people are on welfare and how many of them actually have a job where they are trying to support their family?!?! "I can’t get out of the projects and provide the things my family really need, but yet I spend all the money I make on EXPENSIVE NAME BRAND clothes for my kids and me!!!" Yeah, I want to go to work and bust my ass, so at the end of the day I can support those LASY ASSES by giving them money to buy that shit!!!!
**CUTS
YOU’RE SO WORRIED ABOUT TAX CUTS AND WHO PAYS MORE. WELL LETS TAKE A LOOK HERE…"According to the Kerrys' own tax records, and they haven't released all of them, the couple had a combined income of $6.8 million in income last year and paid $725,000 in income taxes. That means they're effective tax rate was a whopping 12.8%. Under the current tax system, the middle class pays far more than the Kerry tax rate of 12.8%. In fact, the average federal tax rate, combined payroll and income tax for a middle-class family is closer to 20% or more. George W. and Laura Bush, who had an income one-tenth of the Kerrys, paid a tax rate of 30%," and he's Kerry talking about how Bush is the guy skimming away not paying taxes, he's part of "the rich" and we've got to get him to pay more. (http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/101104/content/eib_correction.guest.html)
*********80% of the federal income taxes are paid by the top 20% of the income earners*********(http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_081304/content/only_the_rich_pay_taxes.guest.html)
"If you give a tax cut to people in the bottom 20%, you're not going to stimulate anything. They're not paying any taxes anyway."
"People with the bottom fifth of income, for example, averaging earnings of $16,000 a year saw their effective tax rate drop to 5.2% from 6.7%. Yet because lower and many middle-income families have been paying very little federal income tax in the first place, those in that bottom fifth of earnings received an average tax cut of only $250." So? They're not paying any taxes! They're paying a very small portion of the federal income tax burden in the first place!"
"The tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 reduced tax rates for people in all income brackets but they had a disproportionate effect on people at the very highest levels because they had already been paying a disproportionate share of total federal taxes and in part because stock dividends get a special lower rate."
DIANE’S POINT- Who do you think provides this country with jobs??? Your family with jobs??? The rich that make "butt-tons" of money!!!! At least they do for my family. How do you think I am right here in Texas and being taken care of by bro-in-law? B/c Chris is working for SBC, a rich company!!! That pays taxes to people barely paying anything!
*** GO READ THE ENTIRE ARTICLE. I COULD POST FACTS FROM IT ALL DAY! GO READ IT AND FOLLOW WHAT IS BEING SAID. ***
So there, this is the response to Laura’s post. I think I pretty much "ROCKED YOU KERRY VOTER’S WORLD!" Sorry it took so long but there it is!!!
Iraq claimed that it unilaterally destroyed 29,000 special munitions; UNSCOM found that of these, 100 filled munitions remain unaccounted for.

my views
first
If we let our guard down for even a second and the terrorist are allowed to get a planed attact in the USA that was anything like 9/11 or bigger. The last f*cking thing i going to be worried about is money, health care, jobs, ext..... get my drift!!! The only way for you to see how big of a problem terrorism, in the world, is if you get affected personally.
Second gay in the military
Dont ask dont tell works they are not discriminating agains anybody so it works laura i know where you a coming from but people are closed minded about things even more so in the military. When you are in the military with a bunch of guys the want to think everybody is the same and can do the samething. When they know you gay they think you weaker. Thats not the right way to think but it is how things are and the dont ask dont tell works.

Political Views and Why Kerry is for ME
Patriot Act-
severely wrong, infringement on Constitutional rights. If you ask me, if everyone wasn't so freaking scared of "terrorism" then they would agree with me. It's funny how u put a little orange light up on the news saying that today is a high threat of terrorism day and people are willing to give up their rights. cowards. And there's plenty more to be scared about that's actually worth worrying about.... like problems a little closer to home. Money, health, jobs, etc.
Religion in Schools-
NOT RIGHT, I am a very non religious person and even if I were, I wouldn't believe in prayer in public schools. send your damn kids to a private school if you want them to do that. Exception- if you want to pray in your own group at school, as long as u are not alienating anyone around u or taking school time to do so, then u r ok
Gay Rights-
NO GAYS IN BOY SCOUTS?- according to Bush. how exactly is that ethical? AND- u can be gay in the military as long as you don't tell anyone? why is it hurting anyone if you're gay? they let women in the military who are attracted to men, why not let men who are attracted to men?.
AND what is this "hate crime rules don't apply to gays" ..... unethical, and sickening, damn sickening. a hate crime is a hate crime, sexual preference and race dont matter
IF I wanna burn a flag, I CAN, it's my right, and John Kerry says so. freedom of expression baby
Read the news? Saddam destroyed all his WMDs in '91 and '92. Put that in your pipe and smoke it... then worry about Al Quaeda if you're that concerned about terrorism
I'm also reading here that Bush planned the war on Iraq BEFORE 9/11 even happened!
now why would he do that? U let me know y Bush would want to attack a nation who never posed any threat to us and had no WMDs and then blamed the whole thing on 9/11.... unless he was psychic im pretty sure if Iraq had to do with 9/11 he wouldnt have known that before it even happened
The rich get richer (Bush's "elite") and the poor get poorer?
In a country where WalMart can make butt-tons of money using minimum wage workers and in some cases Mexicans who work for even less just so they can get richer, I am ashamed to be a citizen. I'd personally rather be on welfare too than work my ass off at two min. wage jobs to feed a family.

Political Intelligence Con't
Let me just say that I have a lot of democratic views, and up until this election was nothing but democratic, but am voting for Bush.
Ok first of all, at least Cory is voting for something he believes in-terriorism and war. If thats all he is focusing on that is better than a lot of dumb ass people (rock stars and actors-public eye) I see on tv that say, "hey vote for Kerry b/c Bush is dumb." At least Cory has one point that he believes in and knows about. So I say if thats all you know Cory you are at least somewhat into what is going on and smarter than a majority of our peers!
Second, Emily, the whole abortion thing really doesn't matter. The only people that can change that is the Supreme Court. Plus, Bush is pro-life but doesn't oppose abortion if a woman gets raped, its incest, or unhealty for the mother. So don't worry about having to go through horrible events of being raped and ending up with a child. I think this issue is put at rest!
Right now I am as sick as a dog so I am going back to bed but I will have more in the next couple of days. Stay tuned!

Political Intelligence..................
Cory, people find those quotes when they 'learn' about the two canidates for the 2004 presidential election. This learning process is called 'research'. In this case it is learning about what each canidate plans to do for their four years in office, what they support and don't support.
On a different note you believe that Bush is doing a great job about 'terrorism'? He has been fighting 'terrorism' now for 3 years. What do we have to show for it? The answer to that question would be nothing. Please, prove me wrong. So how can you say he has great plans for terrorism? If he does why hasn't he done anything in the past 3 years?! What is this great plan anyways?! We give you examples of what Kerry wants to do, why can't you give us examples of what Bush wants to do? Please, give us examples of WHY you want to vote for Kerry, thats all we ask, and then we will leave you alone and respect your decision.
Here are some reasons WHY I want to vote for Kerry:
1) I am a college student, and tuition rates are increasing more than inflation. Even if I wasn't a college student, I still want to be able to afford sending my children to college. It is stupid to think that a college degree will cost you more than what most people pay for their homes that they live in for the rest of their lives. ~ Bush began the 'no child left behind', this was great, but then he made it so the really poor people who really needed it weren't eligible. Not only did he do that, but he also cut over a billion dollars from this program to, in his words, "fight terrorism". Is POVERTY (poor, under educated) not one of the 4 MAIN SOURCES OF CRIME? So wouldn't taking money, chances, hope, and education from the poor allow more crime and "TERRORISM" within our own boundaries? Because there will be more children traped in their economic status without even a chance to move one step up within the social classes. YEAH THATS WHAT I THOUGHT! Kerry on the other hand has made a wonderful plan to make college affordable for EVERYONE. By means of community service.
2) I am a woman, and I am prochoice! I want the reassurance of knowing that if I get raped within my lifetime and become pregnant by my rapist I will have the choice to stop that. By means of "The morining after pill" or by abortion. I shouldn't have to carry that child ( a reminder of that horrible event) for 9 months and go in front of muiltipe juries and people I've never seen to re-tell my horrible story, just so I can gain enough rights in "The Land Of The Free" to make my own decision. It would not be fair to myself or that unborn child to place me responsible of a life that I didn't want, especially if I am not responsible enough to make my own decision about my own body. Bush is against every thing that I just stated. Kerry is on the exact same level of thought as me.
3) I believe knowledge is the most important thing in the world. You need knowledge to survive in our society. You need to know what foods are healthy and which are not. You need to know how to protect yourself, in more ways than one. Bush has wanted (not sure if this has passed yet) to take all sex education out of health classes in the United States. He wants to take all mention of ways to protect your self from sexually transmitted diseases and ways to avoid becoming pregnant out of health classes. With AIDS at an extremely increasing rate within the United States, we should, as a Country, try to do everything we can to stop it. We should be telling middle schooler's how NOT to be infected with AIDS, rather than not tell them anything at all. We should be helping to save lifes, not end them faster. There were 7.4 million people infected with HIV in 2003. (that is a stat, but that was the newest one I could find). The percentage of new outbreaks of brothel-based sex workers dropped from 43 percent in 1998 to 29 percent in 2002 due to condom-promotions. Come on people that number was almost halved because of awarness and knowledge. Bush wants to take that away from us and the youth. How stupid can you be?!!
Ok, I need to stop now because I am appalled by all of this................... but I will write more later...

Ok, I need to stop now because I am appalled by all of this................... but I will write more later...
too much time on your hands
You know i could do the same thing for "the great John Kerry", but i have better things to do with my time. As you can see the people who support Kerry are always looking for gay shit like write a poem from the stuff he said. Get a life really

If this doesn't make me wanna vote Bush...
I'm going to have to give my props to Cory Dack on this one. I was looking on Alex Eichen's blog, cuz I remembered it from when he showed it to Kate and I. It's pretty interesting so I glance there every so often.
To the point, Cory had THIS on her profile, ENJOY:
This poem is composed entirely of actual quotes from George W. Bush. The quotes have been arranged for aesthetic presentation by Washington Post writer Richard Thompson.
MAKE THE PIE HIGHER By George W. Bush
I think we all agree, the past is over. This is still a dangerous world. It's a world of madmen and uncertainty and potential mental losses. Rarely is the question asked Is our children learning? Will the highways of the Internet become more few?How many hands have I shaked? They misunderestimate me. I am a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity. I know that the human being and the fish can coexist. Families is where our nation finds hope, whereour wings take dream. Put food on your family! Knock down the tollbooth! Vulcanize society! Make the pie higher! Make the pie higher!
